I've also moved the stories I could find with that pairing, i.e. those that were obvious, but if I've missed yours, please feel free to move it from the Lorne/other or McKay/other categories across to the new category.

I'm curious why there's not a Lorne/Parrish pairing listing consider that there are 17 McKay/Lorne stories and there are 28 Lorne/Parrish...

That pairing is unusal because all anybody knows of cannon Parrish is that he was there in one episode for like less then 5 minutes

Our view is that in order for there to be a pairing category, both characters have to be listed in our list of characters that can be attached to stories. It is, after all, rather pointless to have a pairing category for a character who isn't listed as a character on the site :)

In order for characters to be listed in our list of characters that can be attached to stories, the characters have had to appear in a number of episodes (currently more than 5 as a rule of thumb, not unreasonable given that there are more than 60 episodes so far) and to be one that appears in a number of stories. This is why we have Steven Caldwell listed but not Laura Cadman (who hasn't, to my knowledge, appeared in the required number of episodes).

In other words, there is a pairing category for Lorne/Parrish. It's called 'Lorne/other', because the character of Parrish has appeared in the show for a total of 1 minute and 38 seconds in one episode and therefore cannot be listed as a character on the site. The category is called 'Lorne/other' because 'Lorne/other minor canon characters who aren't listed on the site and any original characters the author has created and has paired with Lorne' was a bit of a mouthful :)

*Sigh* That means I'll have to wait for Jack to appear in one more episode and write a few more Jack/Rodney fics!

We try to take a common sense approach in the way that we manage the archive. I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of SG:A fans would consider Jack to be an SG-1 character rather than an SG:A one, and that's certainly the view we take. SG-1 has its own archives whereas our archive is SG:A only, focusing on SG:A characters, which is why SG-1 characters were originally only added to the crossovers categories.

If there comes a point where Jack joins the show the way that another character has done (still avoiding spoilers), then I suspect that most fen will agree that he has moved from being an SG-1 character to being an SG:A one as well. At that point we will certainly consider adding pairing categories with him in where we feel that it's appropriate.

But as we say clearly in the rules, the decision of the archivists is final. We're trying to balance the needs of readers, writers and us as archivists, and we will make any such decisions based on those needs.
