I saw what you did thar
Dear Person using Comcast from the Bay Area:

There is a rule against flaming. This rule is enforced, even if you flame anonymously. Not that you will see this message, as I've just banned your IP address.

If you do manage to log on with another IP address and try to flame again, I'll simply ban that one too.

Dear Everyone Else:

Ceiling cat is watching you.

As sorry as I am to ever see any flames at all, knowing that you promptly and effectively enforce this archive's "no flames" rule makes me feel safe here. This remains my all-time favorite archive in any fandom.

Thank you :) We tend to be fairly lenient in what we consider to be a 'flame'. Simply phrasing criticism in a way that isn't polite won't result in you being banned (unless you make a habit of it), but attacking the author rather than concentrating on the story will.

As a non-English speaker, this phrase: "I saw what you did thar," makes me curious. What "thar" means? I don't find anything in my references link, or is it a typo?

It's actually a reference to LOLcats (as see on, which is also where Ceiling Cat comes from

Thank you so much (or possibly not) for the LOLcats website addy. I just spent the last half hour giggling, and completely forgot what I was going to do earlier.

Ceiling cat is always watching. I'm sorry to hear someone got flamed. Criticism is one thing but purposely attacking a person's work because you don't like it is awful and cruel. Thanks for taking care of your writers.

I echo the thanks already posted here. This is a happy, safe place and I am proud to have my stories here!

I believe that you deserve the best archiveist (sp???) award ever for two reasons:
1. Banning the IP address because flames = badness
2. LOLcats are amazing.
3. Ceiling at is always watching.

[that's right, I only said 2 things]

This is one of the reasons I don't use anymore, the people on that site enforce the "No Flaming" rule, they just let the flamers run the place.

oops! I meant the Admins that run DO NOT enforce the "no flaming rule" Thank you for making this place a nice and safe place to post SGA fan fiction.
