Ah. That was so wonderfully sweet after the bitter-sweet childhood we glimpsed in the previous "Ex" story. Thanks for writing this one!

Author's Response: There's actually a story in between them that makes it more obvious that they're related, but it isn't around for certain reasons, so you just have to believe they're connected. ;) But, yes, much more humor and happiness in this one than the other, and thanks for reading. :)

Sweet. Even if I do resent 40 being thought of as old, you young whippersnapper!

Author's Response: As I'm older than Mr. Flanigan by just about two weeks, I'm more on the getting into middle age whippersnapper territory. ;) But, yeah, even with Rodney doling out the grief, I'm happy some sweetness came through. :D

This was a lot of fun. I loved John getting his toys and had to chuckle at his arranging Kirk and Spock and then swooping his plane about with Lorne. 40?...possibly more like 4 *g*. Loved his last present- very hot and with just the right balance of tenderness and snark. Laura.

Author's Response: Yeah, 4 is just about right. ;) And, yay, I'd been worried about the ending being too maudlin, so I'm glad it didn't seem that way for you. Mucho thankses for reading. :D

Great story. Loved the playfulness mixed with the serious.

Author's Response: Why thank you kindly, I'm glad you liked it. :D
