Very intense and tense. It was interesting, yet sad, to see how their new life had changed both men, how John gave in to Carson's need to have some sort of control, how it tore them both apart each time the Wraith culled the village they were in.I could see why Carson finally left John, but I'm glad John followed him and evntually found him. It was almost ironic that the humans had done Carson more damage than the wraith. I was hugely relieve to see Rodney and Ronon to the rescue as it had looked very bleak for them both as Carson's condition worsened. The ending was nicely hopeful, no magic reset button, both of them having a lot to come to terms with, but now at least home and safe again, with lots of time to sort their heads out and lots of friends to support them. Laura.

Author's Response: Thank you. This idea with humans hurting each other more than anything else could has been bugging me for a while and I think it's something worth exploring. They have bad life-sucking monsters, but there are wraith worshipers and somehow they seem more dangerous. I was never a fan of magic recoveries and I'm glad my ending feels right for you :)

This is such a cool concept. Carson as a Runner. Awesome. I wish it were a much longer story, though. There's so much here to explore. And the ending felt a bit rushed to me. Carson's got such a long recovery--mental and physical--to go and It would be something to really dig into. But great story, truely.

Author's Response: Thank you. I agree that the recovery would be interesting to show, especially the way this would affect his relationship with Ronon. I am considering writing a sequel to deal with that :)
