I really enjoyed this fic. I love your characterizations, and how you make them 3 dimensional, and give them more substance.
Great look at John's character. I can see him needing to take himself off every now and again to work through things. I enjoyed his thoughts and feelings concerning the gene, Atlantis and her almost sentience. I could certainly see why it would be disturbing to wonder just how subtle she could be in manipulating him, but how that thought warred with the coolness of what the gene made possible. I also loved the scenes with Lorne. I liked the idea of him having John lojacked, of already having sussed that John was prone to wandering off and just as prone to getting into trouble. I also liked the fact that John liked Lorne for his covering of the devious angles and becoming a great co-conspirator :). Laura.
Lovely fic. A nice character piece on Sheppard and an interesting look at both his connection to the city and his relationships with the men he commands.

Excellent! Loved the look into John's head in how he deals (or not deals, as he sees fit) with his ATA gene and the city's unqualified love of him. Too cool and very well written. Also loved Lorne in this.

Lorne as "unindicted coconsiprator" is a picture too wonderful to pass up. Also, I love stories that have the city as a character and interacting with John. Loved it! Thanks for sharing.

I like the idea that Atlantis is at least semi-sentient. Like Sheppard, I'm a bit weirded out by the idea of a completely sentient city, but you do a great job of making her 'alive' without making her 'ALIVE', if that makes sense. :)
