The poetry of the language is as beautiful as the story is dark. Half-mad Rodney in a ruined city, hoping against hope that the numbers on the screens brings John back to him. Nicely done!

This is a strange mixture of sad and disturbing and wonderful. It's sad to learn that so many were lost to the Wraith attack and that Rodney turned away from saving Atlantis in favour of saving John. It's disturbing to learn how he did it, yet it's also wonderful to see the depth of love between them that Rodney would go to those lengths and John would accept it without question. Very powerful fic.

This is just wonderful. The sense of horror is slow and intoxicating. In the beginning, I wondered if it might not be a story of necrophilia, Rodney unable to lose John to death, keeping his body alive and preserved through Ancient technology, unable to give up any more of John than death had already forced him to.

This - bringing John back - has its own chilling undercurrents. I love Rodney's thoughts of Frankenstein, and that you don't shy away from showing how the line of love and obsession blurs, how Rodney isn't entirely himself or entirely sane. There's a lovely sense of what Rodney must be feeling, that shiver of hope that it will work threaded through the terror that it might work, and what then? Shrouded in the feelings he can't let himself fully face, that it might not. It's really just very well written and highly evocative and complex, the supporting characters almost invisible for being overwhelmed by Rodney's focus on John, and the opaque future of what will become of them and of Atlantis now that Rodney's project is finished.

A very poetic testament to the overwhelming need that love sometimes requires, not permitting even death to win. Lovely.

Possessive? That's Obsession! I feel bad for everyone literally sacrificed by Rodney and wonder if John will really be okay with everything Rodney did. Very well done!
