Great perspective. It's so easy to forget that the background people, the ones who take no part in the fighting, are still just as involved in attacks on the city that they call home. Nice to see reaction to the latest wraith attack from outside the usual circle. I also liked her somewhat distanced recognition of John and Rodney, because yes, not everyone on the expedition would have much to do with them and, like I said before, it's easy to forget that.

Author's Response: Thanks for the great comment! I was given a prompt of "voyeurism," but just couldn't come up with a situation I felt comfortable writing. This came to me instead -- a narrator who wasn't familiar with John and Rodney, who wouldn't find their intimacy thrilling, or important in any way other than the obvious: a human need for comfort.

MMMMMMMMM...How lovely. I particularly love: "Claire knows the men on the balcony. She recognizes them the way she might recognize her state representative if she saw him at the store, buying yogurt or chives. They are Dr. McKay and Colonel Sheppard."

There's not enough of that in this fandom - not enough Background Canon Fillers. Nicely done.

Different perspective, nicely written from third party point of view.

Author's Response: Thank you! If you're interested, two other authors wrote from John's and Rodney's povs. You can find links to them on the LJ post:
