Wow. It isn't often that somebody actually writes something where DADT has consequences, but this one especially is incredible. I'm in awe of the fact that in this Atlantis 2 bashings have already occurred. Thank you for writing that powerful reminder that, despite what we may think, Atlantis is still populated by a whole bunch of people from Earth who aren't perfect and won't necessarily be straight or open minded. Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you. One of my own quirks is trying to place some realism in a fandom that hasn't much so I'm happy to hear that it came out well. You said it best when you said that Atlantis is still a place filled with people from Earth and they wouldn't all have an openmind. People like to think the best and of course, that's nice, but by the same token it's better to have some amount of life to it, I think. :) Thank you again.

This is great - sad and hopeful at the same time. You managed to capture Rodney's feelings perfectly without using many words. I'd love to see a sequel to this.

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad Rodney came across well. :)

Wouldn't it have been nice if bigotry and any kind of hate crimes could have been left behind on Earth? Sweet story and at the same time, sad too, that John and Rodney have to hide what they feel for fear of being physically hurt. Loved the dogtag thing too. Kat

Author's Response: Thank you. :) It would be such a nice thing and canon will probably make it such but in reality I still see there being a problem because that many people in small quarters from so many places of different beliefs, harmony will only last so long. I'm actually thinking of continuing this at some point where they won't have to hide so much.

This is so bitter sweet. They obviously have feelings for each other, and it makes me sad that they have to pretend otherwise, even to themselves :(. I loved the little touches such as Rodney having John's tags, and imagining John wearing his ring; plus John looking so sad at the prospect of leaving. As I said, bitter sweet. Laura.

Author's Response: Thank you, Laura. I wanted it to have that bit of underlying sadness to it, and I'm glad I achieved it although John and Rodney had to suffer for it. I'm glad that you enjoyed the small touches too. Those are some of my favorite parts.
