Oh. Oh. What an exceedingly cool premise and shattering fallout, handled with such pain and yet so delicately. You could tell Jack was grieving from the start, his fists when talking to Zelenka and the attention he was paying to his food, the shattering tacos, but even that sense didn't prepare you for the truth. Ouch.

You do permanent disabilities and pain and fierce love so very well.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much.

You always come up with the most amazingly original plots, Martha, and this is a case in point. What an intriguing premise, and I love your take on all the characters here. Great little glimpse of McKay and Sheppard, and Jack's melancholy -- and yet, his happiness at just having Daniel there in whatever form possible -- is incredibly poignant. And of course this would appeal to Daniel's twisted sense of humor, and Jack would see this. Nicely done, eerie and memorable.

Author's Response: I am really glad. Thank you.

"You think I didn't know I would end up marooned on Heliopolis with you sooner or later, Dr. Jackson? The past decade, I've just been biding my time."

Oh, wow. That's a blast from the past. Heliopolis. And what a horrible thing to happen to Daniel. How did you come up with that? Thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: You know, I and pretty sure this story came about becausernI wanted to see Atlantis land on a planet that did not to have earth-- likernconditions. Then I had to figure out a way for Atlantis tornhas enough power to maintain life-support - and everything else sort of followed from there I think. Or something like that.

I don't like Daniel that much but poor soul! That's really a fate worse than death and, at this point, he may not even be able to die! Poor Jack. This story trully surprises me. I loved it, even if it's so sad.

This is such an impressive piece of work! Great concept and beautifully done.

Author's Response: wow -- thank you so much for the generous words.

Wow. How horrible for everyone! I'm assuming that Atlantis can't even go anywhere nicer, because that would subject Daniel to hyperspace.... Poor, poor guy. And poor Jack, having to watch and not being able to do anything. Sad, but beautifully written story.

Author's Response: oh dear. It does all sound rather ghastly when you put it that way.

Wow, that summary seems so ordinary -- your story is so surprising. As I was reading you kept hitting me with these hints (the methane rain, Sheppard's injury & Rodney with the cane, Cam's guilt). I was beginning to dread what was going on with Daniel, but couldn't understand why, because it still seemed liked he was fine. Reading the ending gives me a strange feeling that I'm not used to. Very nice story, but unsettling.

Author's Response: That's actualy very cool; thank you!
