Good story, but what started the fire in the fields? I sure hope it wasn't something Rodney did, but you didn't cover it. Glad they got things worked out between Rodney and John. :>)
Author's Response: The fire was either natural or started through carelessness on the part of someone burning a campfire -- nothing with malicious intent, and nothing that Rodney had a part in, either (since the fire didn't originate at the plant). Sometimes, to quote our dear Ford, "stuff happens." I suppose I could add a throwaway line towards the end of the story to explain it...

Author's Response: Seriously. If ever anything goes truly *well*, you know they have to be even more paranoid/suspicious than when things are going badly. SNAFU is their default setting.
