Very good all around. Rodney's reluctance at the festival and John's coming to him when they were home.

Oh, I adored this. I loved the things John said to Rodney in the moonlight. I loved how Teyla, while reciting the story of the lovers, held the "punchline" until the end. I liked how you went back and forth between past and present.

Author's Response: I like the idea of Teyla sharing the story and providing a little push - I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!

I liked how the past and present ran parallel, each revealing the next step, before we moved to the other time and things moved on there. I liked how this meant that the reason for Rodney's defensiveness, along with the more pleasant feelings, built gradually until each phase reached its end, one bitter and alone, one content and together.

Laura.

Author's Response: I enjoy experimenting with slow reveals and time switches. I'm glad you liked the structure on this one. Thanks for letting me know! :=D
