Sweet without being overdone.
You made the right decision in witholding the tag. The story is good enough that it would have only taken a bit away, but that bit makes a difference.

I loved this, and didn't get it until the end. It would be lovely if you did a sequel about how John resolves this in Altantis (and gets his Rodney of course)
