Wow. I'm struck speechless. This was, oddly deep, because it says everything without SAYING everything... you describe the smells, the fell the feelings, the difference very well.
The reader has their mind involved in imagining, and it's touching, and you *feel* the warmth at the same time you know it's painful to Jen, but at the same time... she knew. She knew the whole time. How could she not.
