For so few words, this says so much about John and his outlook on life. It was very melancholy at the end, with all that safety just hiding a different sort of danger, danger that John can't simply shoot. As for Rodney- he needs a good headslap (at the very least!).

Author's Response: Yes, I was quite, er, cruel to John this time (or, if I'm being honest, usually, though I mostly give him happy endings, so that part sucks ;), but the end of the series really left things awkwardly, considering they knew it was the last regular episode, so the melancholy won out. And John, of course, for all that canon makes him physically lucky (okay, he gets hurt a fair amount, but considering he was in danger every week, the fact he lived through most of five seasons (except Vegas, potentially *snork*) was actually pretty steep odds... you know, if had been real life and all ;), has the worst luck emotionally, so yeah. And Rodney most assuredly deserves a headslap, just as a start. *snicker*

Awww, John. That's so sad for him. And Rodney is being stupid for staying with Jennifer.

Author's Response: I do abuse the poor woobie so. ;) And I totally agree about Rodney... though since the writers apparently don't, we'll just have to deal. Or write more AUs. *snicker*
