I was halfway through before I realized it was a sequel, which is kinda dumb because it says sequel in the summary. Even so, it was good. I bet if I go read the originals than come back to this it will be even better.

Wow. :D I was not expecting a sequel to Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves, so when I saw this on the recent stories page, I near about squealed with glee. Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves was a totally amazing story, by the way, since I'm not sure if I actually reviewed that one, as it might have been before I had an account here on wraithbait.

However, can I just say this story was AWESOME? It was a lot shorter than the first story, but still just as great. It had the humor, (Thor defecting? Seriously? I think he'd walk naked in front of the IOA first--wait, didn't he already do that?) but still with the drama and angst that I loved the original for. And I really, really love Vala in this series, even though she was only in a small part of this story. Her character is developed so well, and I regret that she wasn't in more of SG-1, because I think she was just great all around.

Another thing; Jack's guilt about the whole thing with John? Just pure genius, and so realistic, too. The way he doesn't say sorry because he knows how that would just suck, and how he KNOWS what John went through to an extent from what happened when he was captured by Ba'al, and how Jack knew the names of the two people taken from the SGC before the second mission to Abydos, even though he's already admitted to himself that he didn't really think much on the Sgt. and John after Teal'c said that they were dead.

And, to be honest, I find myself happy that Jack regrets the way he treated McKay, and the rest of the scientists too, because I think that Rodney should be appreciated more all around, but it's nice for Jack to realize that too.

So thanks once again for the great story, and I hope to see more stories from you sometime soon.
