Lovely story, especially the bit with the myths. That always seems to tie everything back to the original themes of Stargate. I practically squealed at Oma's appearance! Keep up the good work.

Wow. I know what it's like all too well to watch someone I cared about be eaten alive by cancer. And I know that I could never be a doctor because of my way too strong empathy for people and their suffering; I'd take it upon myself and burn out too quickly to be an effective and good physician. Carson's a wonderful man and an excellent doctor. You so realistically portrayed the feelings and determined desperation of a man who knows exactly just how screwed his friend was, and his powerlessness in preventing the inevitable. ----}-@ Krys

Author's Response: Thank you. I considered going into oncology for a long time, but in the end was not able to detach myself either. I've also watched friends die, and knowing what's going on medically only makes things worse.

I have never reviewed a fanfiction story before but this one was definetly worthy, one of the best I've ever read. I really liked the way your chapters weren't incredibly long as sometime when stories are like this I lose interest. I usually don't read stories with multiple chapters (short attention span lol :P) but this one captured my interest straight away and kept me hanging on til the end. Thank you

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm touched that you liked this so much. I like exploring the multiple facets of Carson's character, and am currently working on a fic that shows more of his dark side. Hopefully it'll be done soon.(Yeah, right... :-))

Thank you for that, very good! :) Thank you also for not succumbimg to the Happy-ever-after-bug and making it all turn out OK in the end. Is more gritty that way.Carson's "voice" was clear in this and the ending had an interesting twist,Keep writing.:D

Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you liked it. I definitely like "gritty", too. That's why I liked DS9 better than Star Trek Next Generation. But I digress...

Very, very nice! Carson has to be given more credit! And you just did exactly that in a wonderful way. Including the Hippocratic oath was brilliant, somehow that little sentence gave amazingly great depth to the story. -Elena

Author's Response: Glad you liked it. It's unrealistic to think that he wouldn't feel guilty over his role in creating the drug, even though he tried to stop them from using it.

Having read this story over at I can only say that it's a piece of excellent writing with great character insight into Beckett.

Author's Response: Thanks! I think the show's writers don't do enough with him.
