Wonderful, haunting story. I'm sad to see you haven't written more for Atlantis but I encourage you to do so.

Oh, you are an evil, evil child. Leaving it there like that.

Oh! ::Hugs John::. Not to sound mean, but this was excellent. I loved the way John chose to hide from his torturers by imagining his friends. I think the ending was the most harrowing bit though...is he really home? And if so, can they convince him of that before he completely loses it? Laura.
Author's Response: And if so, can they convince him of that before he completely loses it? That has to remain the unanswered question :)

Dude, this was beautiful:
"You can't give up yet," Elizabeth says quietly. "We're coming to get you."
John nods slowly, unsure if he believes her promise because he's lucid enough to know that it's a promise he's making to himself.
And then this:
John looks up at Rodney. "You forgot to tell me something."
Rodney looks a little sad. "I don't think you believe it anymore."
John swallows hard. "Say it anyway."
I know it sounds morbid, but there aren't enough well written torture fics in this fandom. Thanks for the awesome insight into Sheppard's character.
