Hi, I really like your fic, my favourite line, was when John said to Rodney, 'he was the man who fathered me, not my father', because it reminded me of a quote I'd heard, 'anyone can be a father, it takes someone special to be a daddy'. I also like the Bates/Kavanangh, but unfortunately, I haven't read any anywhere else!
Thank you for the awesome story.

That is a very lovely fic, and it is one of my favourite, as I keep going back to it. But I have one small hole to pick, it's at the beginning, when it says that Rodneys' IQ, is 247, that is highly unlikely, especially since over 140, is genius, or near genius. and the highest recorded is between 210 and 220. Apart from that itsey bitsey detail, I loved this fic. It is a wonderful representation of what John and Rodneys' relationship together. I'm sorry for being picky about Rodneys IQ, but small things can easily bug me.

Author's Response: Glad you liked, and yeah, I know about IQ's but I couldn't resist making his so high LOL. It became a running joke and I think I added it into a couple of other fics.

I enjoyed this so much. I loved the humor and LOL a lot! You blended it so well with the angst and action. I still have a grin on my face. The conversations between Rodney and John are priceless.

I have to say i loved this! Johns father was a complete bastard but i love his mother! This story was so sweet at times and poor John having o put up with all that for his entire life, but i am so glad he has Rodney as well as his mum now. Really enjoyed the darker aspects of the fic but i'm really glad you introduced some humour. Got to say that towards the end of this story everthing just cracked me up. Please keep writing you are one of my favourite authors. Thank you so much for this story.

Author's Response: YOu are sooo welcome...this one, well, I dunno where it came from, but we hear so much about Rodney and almost nothing about John...I figure he had a screwy upbringing also....Huntress

An odd story, great plot, but some of it was a bit too sketchy. Loved the humor, you worked that in great. The writing style got better as the story progressed. I would also like to add that I loved how you portrayed Kavanaugh and Caldwell. Especially Caldwell, I rarely see a characterization of the man that does not have him as a guy out to get everyone. Your characters are a bit extreme but are still within the canon parameters. Love Kavanaugh and Bates... definately need a picture of those two.

Author's Response: I will fully admit I do take characters close to the edge sometimes (and sometimes, yes, I do go over that edge) but I see Caldwell as someone who just wants the job done, no BS and yet he's still a human being inside...and I always (like a bunch of people)pick on Kavanagh so I thought I'd give him a break this one time. And I always pair him up with Bates, because they have to be the *oddest* pairing around LOL...glad you liked it... Huntress

Sergeants Fry and Bender... a bit of a Futurama fan, aren't we? Anyway... I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I do hate John's "not father" though. Keep up the good work. Zar

Author's Response: Fry and Bender always show up at one point or another...two marines who are usually a bit screwy and troublesome...Leela Turanga may show up also someday LOL....glad you enjoyed it....Huntress

Whoa, what a nightmare family life poor John has had. Glad Rodney there for him when his father showed up.

Author's Response: Thanks, glad you liked...and we hear so much (in fic and canon) about Rodney's childhood and I figured that he's not the only one that has had a crappy life and managed to get through it...Huntress
