Great ending. I loved how Rodney struggled to deal with the aftermath of their success against the Wraith and how John almost wished he'd not come back because his near-death epiphany would now have to be dealt with. They were both as bad (and amusing) as each other as they tried to figure out how to broach the subject. John's false starts and Rodney's amusement at them was sweet, especially seeing as Rodney got it anyway :). Laura.

Great look at John's scrambled thoughts as he tries to come to terms with what he's about to do. I especially liked that last line, far too late to dawn on him...or so he thought. Laura.

Oh, sad, but so very Rodney. It's so typical that Rodney, who seems to be talking all the time, doesn't have the words when he most needs them. Very poignant fic. Laura.

Author's Response: I did feel kind of bad for beating up on Rodney, but Rodney-angst is just so appealing for some reason.

"Everything always has to work, because when it doesn't work, people die. And it's my fault." I think you have really captured the inner workings of Rodney's mind. On the outside distain for almost everyone--on the inside a deep sense of responsibility for the same people. Thanks, I just came from a dreadfully out of character story and this was a breath of freash air.

Author's Response: Thank you for the compliment. It's kind of funny actually, because I didn't start out writing this with Rodney in mind. It was supposed to be an original poem. But these things just sort of take charge of themselves, I guess. ;)
