That I liked. Very emontional. Thank you for it.
Great story. The backstory was well done, though sad. I was very angry with John's waster father and proud of John for finally getting out. It was sad to see how lonely he'd made himself (though I think his dad gets a big portion of blame for that too), but I loved that it was Rodney King of Obliviousness, who was the one to give John his birthday back again :). That was beautiful.
Leave it to Rodney to get behind John's defenses, huh? Way to go, McKay. Excellent job, hon. You really got to me with this one. ----}-@
