Extremely painful to read, but so very well done.

Loved the author's note - so the next story is about the plumber who just happens to have the gene?

Beautifully done. I had a lump in my throat all the way through.

I can't believe you did that! He better not be really dead! I can't believe you DID THAT!!!!!! I don't care how well written it was, or how I totally got lost in it, or how amazing that chapter was...cause it was amazing and well written and I did forget where I was and got lost in the words, But...Think of David, think of his Mom, think of me. You are totally breaking my heart here! Devastated. I think the only way to console me is with the next part. I'm going back to the first part again. Pretty soon it will be like a picture that is creased from being looked at so much. Lorne...

Author's Response: *Abashed* Um, I'm sorry? I'm glad that it read that well for you, but unfortunately this is the third (final) installment. It's the middle part, the visit between 1 & 3, that's still not up yet. It will probably be up in the next few weeks, and it's not much happier. *Winces* I'm glad you like it enough to re-read, at least.

Sad, just sad...but lovely like "Perogative." *sniffles a little* It always the case--For the one "out" couple there's many more that don't have that option. Okay, now I'm off to search for some happy Parrish/Lorne fics. Nice job.

Author's Response: I think one of the reasons I love P/L so much is because they're the everymen of Atlantis. Sheppard & McKay are unique, and can't be replaced; Parrish & Lorne are both Daedalus arrivals, they're not even part of the clique of the first-wave team. Lorne's an officer w/ SGC background and a reasonably clean record from what we know, Parrish is one of several botanists. They just live much more in the 'Real World' than Sheppard/McKay, which makes compare/contrasting the differences that much more interesting. I'm glad that you liked this.

This was SOOO good!!!! Any chance you'll be continuing this? or maybe writing parallel pieces for other characters? Although I really like this pairing. Maybe David and Mama Lorne write to each other? Just a thought, hope, begging suggestion. Thanks! I REALLY liked this piece.

Author's Response: I honestly hadn't thought about the possibility of continuing it; this was written to exorcise a random fit of inspiration. But I'll think about it, either a visit a year or two later or just through letters *Ponders*

Author's Response: This (it turning into a trilogy) is all, totally, your fault.
