This was very hot, but I also liked the angsty side to it. It was sad to see that one too many rejections in Rodney's past has made him so sure that John is lying to him. I hope he believes it eventually. Laura.

Author's Response: Oh, he will. Because I like happy endings, and so you can safely imagine that ten years from now John will still be whispering "I love you" and Rodney will be going, "Yes, yes, sex now?"

I always thought that word sounded a little dirty. :)

Author's Response: OMG, so true.

This is beautiful. I really love the way that you have depicted Rodney, it’s just how I imagine him. Tough and sort of vulnerable- but kept well hidden. The way he refuses to believe John twists your gut it’s so sweet and painful and the end when he realises that maybe he’s telling the truth- just that hint of a happy ending. Perfect.

Author's Response: Thank you - that's exactly the tone I was aiming for. I'm glad you liked my Rodney, too; his voice can be a little tough to get into, so that's a high compliment. I appreciate your feedback a lot; thanks again.

I love this. I have a huge soft spot for manly-yet-insecure!Rodney, and this was just such a perfect example of it. I also really like the way you don't have Rodney quite belive that John's telling the truth; it's that little feeling of doubt that makes it so painful and gorgeous at the same time.

Author's Response: That's how I see it; I'm glad you think the contrast between his self-sufficiency and emotional vulnerability worked. For me that was the heart of the story, and thanks for letting me know you saw it, too.
