Chilling, and all too believable. This works very well as is (Because it lets the reader decide how things turn out), but I'd also love to read the fallout from the injection. *Shivers* The problem with fanatics is that they don't stop to consider all angles of an action they believe is the right one. The Hoffans were definitely fanatics.

Author's Response: I think the story just has to end here, and the not-knowing is what makes it so chilling! You're right about fanaticism, and that's what I was thinking of when I thought of the "what if" of the story.

The subtle introduction into Maya's madness was compelling, and helped build the suspence until I was barely breathing by the end, just hoping to hell that someone would discover what was happening before it was too late. Obviously it's now too late, but I take heart in your lack of Character Death warning. Hopefully that won't be part of chapter two. :) As usual, you have created a fascinating and riviting story here, and Maya's backstory is tragic and horrifying. I'm almost afraid to read more, but I also can't wait for it. Leah

Author's Response: Oh, there will be no more--that's it. I had to end it there, for obvious reasons, and I don't plan to revisit it. But I'm glad you felt the suspense! It's hard to write an unsympathetic and insane OC, let me tell you. Thanks for your kind note!

Wow, that was intense! I loved the follow up to Poisoning the Well. Knowing that John was right about the Wraith destroying Hoff is sad, but seem right. And will John live or die from the potion? This is a very powerful piece.

Author's Response: Thank you for your note! I was going for intense and creepy. I don't know whether John will live or die...let's say he lives, shall we? *g*
