Wow! It seriously took me a long time to figure out what was going on. I loved it, even though I don't normally read Cadman/Beckett stories.

Very angst story but?? Math here. If Cadman is in her late 20's ( at leatest early 30's) and the Wraith take 40 years (ouch) she would be... 60. Which I know *SOUNDS* ancient and sexless and frail to the younger ficcers ( majority out there) but...? Research time? Any number of actresses that are considered 'hot' are well over 60. (Fashion-fit models are often over 60 and look 40 - I work with several) Also? Medical logic? The 'strip' effected is obviously dramatic ( we've seen it on TV) but once back in treatment? Only 'surface' aging can be taking place ( 'Fatal' age effects are the result of DNA changes that occur when cells split. Whatever is happening - eh number of cell divisions cant be going up - or the result would leave a giant people-sized cancer ) Given collegen injections ( for the sudden wrinkles) enz/acid exfoliation ( to refresh the skin) EMS ( to rebuild withered muscle) IV chelated calcium ( to restore bone strength) and six months or so of careful diet and exercise? Cadman would be at the LEAST a functional desk officer (60 is NOT absolutely retired in the modern AF ) and at most? Well, take a look a Sofia Loren one of these days.

Very nicely done. No one ever things about the effects a partial feeding would have on a character all know and love, or on those who care for them. I love stories that take on those difficult issues.
