On this one I agree 200% with laura Trekkie - on top of that I think that here Rodney is just an ungrateful bastard, next time if I were John I'd leave him for a few days before I rescued him and see what his response would be then!!

Author's Response: Well, if it helps, in my head, they don't speak to each other more than necessary for a few weeks after this, and then one night Rodney shows up in John's room at three in the morning and kisses him gently, slowly, and says, "I don't know how to - I mean, I don't think you were - but I can't - I -" and it's painful to listen to, so John kisses him and refuses to talk about it ever, because he is repressed like that. And they live pornily ever after. :) Hope that's better.

Please tell me you are doing a sequel to this?!

Author's Response: No, in all likelihood not, because I hardly ever write continuations. But I'm glad you liked it enough to ask for one. :)

And again with the hurt :(. I can see why Rodney might struggle with the idea that people were dead in his name, but I'd have hoped he knew John better, knew he'd fight hard for anyone under his protection, lover or not. I'd also have thought that Rodney realised John had that in him before they got together; he's seen it enough. Poor John to have suffered the fear for Rodney while he was captured, the guilt and grief at killing those people (it's not like he *enjoys* killing, after all), and now he has to face Rodney's disgust when he probably would have liked a bit of support and reconnection :(. Laura.

Author's Response: See, and that's what I liked about this idea; John's not perfect, he's this flawed, morally relativistic character - and Rodney's hardly angelic either. They're both a little broken, you know? *glances up at response* Okay, so I went off topic, but...I'm glad you liked the piece, even if it's dark. Thanks for reviewing.

you do like it on the darker side of slash don't you? not that i mind- i love it too! would love it if you'd concider continuing this, it would be fantastic to see john's atempts to win rodney back.

Author's Response: lol...all I can write recently, it seems, is dark/angst/sad fic. As to continuation...the odds are pretty much against it, because I rarely revisit ideas, but hey, it could happen. Thanks so much for reviewing.
