As a character study it works.

As a victim one of the first concerns is were is the abuser and how to make sure they can't do it again. The fact no one made an attempt, at least one that was documented within the story, to determine if Kolya was dead bothers me.

All things considered its a wonder everyone wasn't bonkers after the first year, but that wouldn't go over well with the tv censors so...

That was really powerful! I was rivited the whole time. You made the pain Shep felt, so real that I could actually see how he was writhing on the bed. And the ending with a Hurt Rodney was perfect. The poor guy really went through a lot of emotional stuff..especially when asked to kill the major. Loved it so much. I hope to see another story soon:) Jill

I'm only on chapter 4, but this is really a great prose, a painting with words. I love it! It's 4 am now, so I'm going to stop reading till tomorrow. I just didn't want you to have to wait for my review!

This was *so* good. Excellent Sheppard hurt/angst, you made it really easy to get inside his head during first his capture by Kolya and then his battle with the drug. Rodney was great too, with his own special brand of snarky comfort. We really see how strong the friendship between John and Rodney is during the difficult times. We saw this to an extent with Ford, Teyla, Beckett and Weir too. The ending was good, when John helps Rodney to get over it, returning the favour a little. Excellent story, thank you. Laura.
