I loved this. Sweet and funny and well done all around. Great use of secondary characters and just the right tone. This is a type of story I always find myself drawn to (I'm a practical sort of person, so I spend time wondering about these things as I'm watching the show.) I'd be willing to bet Atlantis' barber would be the best "informed" person in the city (and a great POV story I'm not skilled enough to write). And I wonder how many folks are secretly wearing pink underwear from laundry accidents. Thanks for sharing this. It's going to keep me chuckling for some time.
Author's Response: I found myself wondering as well, since their clothes were getting shot/torn/cut up all the time and they never seemed to run out. And I agree that the barber would probably be *the* place to get dirt. I've been noodling with a 'day in the life' fic from some underling POV but hadn't actually thought of the barber yet. I love the idea of a flood of pink underwear! Thanks for your kind words. :)

See, this is exactly the kind of detail the show *needs* to make it more plausible. Just to *mention* that one of the Marines does haircuts, or something... ahh, really enjoyed reading these snippets; the biplanes made me smirk, and the last line with Stackhouse was priceless.
Author's Response: I agree, I'd love to see this sort of thing on the show more. The closest I've seen is someone gathering up dishes in the background of a cafeteria scene. The last line is probably one of my favorite lines I've written.

those were great!
Rodney sews better than I do... now that's a depressing thought. *thinks about the sewing circle and falls over laughing*
I always thought Teyla should teach Elizabeth some moves, serve as some leader-and-leader bonding.
Lorne's boxers... now there's a thought.
that last line with Stackhouse is priceless.
Author's Response: Lorne's boxers are just too cute, and thanks so much - the last line is my fave as well. Thanks for reading! :)

This was really cute, you could definitely go many places with it. I for one would like to read more of this.
Author's Response: Thanks! I've got another story in a similar vain coming out soon.

I have to say, this was fantastic. As a historian by vocation and avocation, it's the little, everyday things that interest me most. You're right--it'll never get on TV, but it certainly works here. THANKS!
Author's Response: Thank you! I've always been interested in those tiny little moments, all the little teensy patches of life that make up the whole quilt.
