I'm very afraid John could find himself kidnapped--or harassed by O'Neill--or McKay. Run, John! Run fast!

So, I only registered at this site because the review thing wasn't working and I really wanted to tell you how brilliant this story is.

Part of it is because I'm a sucker for rising au stories where a) sheppard dies or b) sheppard don't go the Atlantis.

But this story was great, giving a reason for the not going and just alaround brilliant character study of Sheppard.

A great little AU. I too loved the irony that the air force had been trying to get rid of him for years and now that he'd obliged them, they changed their mind. You can kinda see his point too, I don't know that I'd be all that keen to spend the foreseeable future under Sumner's command when he made it so clear that he didn't want me either, especially not if there was a cushy job with a friend, a job that involved flying and there was no way to know about the puddle jumpers at the time. I could see this happening in a reality not so far removed from this one. I loved Elizabeth's shock too, despite John having never once said he'd go. Laura.

LOL! "Atlantis had nothing on that" :) Intriguing start. So, what are the odds that he will still be flying alien influenced aircraft for the military?
