Wow, that was...the best kind of pain. Let me second the hope that, come July, The Siege III proves inspiring to you.

Author's Response: Thanks! And yeah, crossing my fingers. I've already got the title of the next one ready and waiting, just in case. ;-)

I had no problem knowing who was speaking, my self. This was gorgeous--beautifully poetic and and quietly devestating. I would love to read a sequel that occurs after John survives (because we know he will, even if the characters don't), to find out what happens to the three of them, and if Elizabeth keeps her promise to herself. This was wonderful.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'd kinda like to see that sequel myself--cross your fingers that "The Siege Part III" is as inspiring as Part II. :-)

Odd idea, seems to be alot of S/W/M lately but very enjoyable angst and very well written - poetic, even though who was talknig was a bit hard to figure out in first paragraph.

Author's Response: Yes, it does seem to be picking up as a grouping. I blame "The Siege" personally--I was leaning that way a little before it aired, but that was what sold me on the idea. *grin* Specifically the final scene that inspired this fic, and the look that passed between Elizabeth and Rodney when he realized John ws aboard the Puddle Jumper. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the story even if the premise was still a little "odd" to you. :-)

Oh, I loved this. So heartbreakingly tender.

Author's Response: Thank you! That last scene just broke my heart--watching the two of them look at each other with identical looks of devastation in their eyes--so I just *had* to write this. :-)
