Story Notes:
yes, i know girl-rodney. It's been done and done. But it's fun! This is AU of course. There will be slash, but is it really slash if one of them is a woman?

Oh,question should this Rodney have been a guy that was turned in to a woman or should this rodney have always been a Meredith? i can do it either way and i'm kind of conflicted on which i could do.

please help!

Author's Chapter Notes:
Spoilers through seasons 1-4.

Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay glared a lot since returning to Earth after the destruction of Atlantis. In fact McKay glared more since returning to Earth than she had in all the time she had been on Atlantis. Maybe not. Not even after the incident with the Ancient machine that well...well, that's not important right now...

There in fact were many reasons for her less than cheery attitude...

Reason one...

Atlantis had been destroyed.

Not by Wraith, or Replicators, no, it had been by the government...The IOA, NID, CIA, MI-5, KGB, Ineterpol, SGC. It really didn't matter who did it.

Funding, it had been a matter of funding...Really, now, why couldn't the government keep using the excuse that the White House needed thirty billion dollar toilet seat covers?

Reason two...

Every one of the so-called scientists at the SGC were in fact trained monkeys. McKay knew this but at least in Atlantis she at least had the power to train them out of their bad habits.

Reason Three...

McKay was no longer Head Scientist. And God *that* just pissed McKay off! All that work, all those long hours and all for *nothing* and Carter, Samantha Carter was still the Golden Child of the SGC. It made McKay want to scream!

Reason Four...

Dr. Samantha Carter was now married to General O'Neill. That explained why McKay was sent to Siberia so quickly.

Reason Five...and the most important one...

Because of him!!!

The new General in charge of the SGC. General Landry retired a year ago and the new General who was put in charge had been hand picked by Landry himself. McKay had some vague remembrance of an E-mail that stated this, but there had been Relicatior issues. So McKay hadn't paid it much mind.

General John Sheppard...

Yeah, that had thrown McKay for a loop so badly that she had thought for one moment the Star Gate had hiccupped and send them to and alternate universe.

If only it had been *that* easy.

No, nothing in McKay's life was *ever* that easy. The universe hated McKay. That's how she knew she was still in her own. Because no universe could screw you over so well, as the one you were born to and McKay's life had been nothing but one big screw over since jointing the SGC.

General John Sheppard...yeah, turns out the General has a twin brother. one the General hasn't seen in a few years...Five years in fact. Not since said brother almost got court-martialed and send to Anitartica.

Guess who.

It was just McKay's luck that there just had to be 'two' of them.

General John Edward Sheppard.

Lt. Colonel John Julian Sheppard.

God, Julian! And McKay had thought 'Meredith' was bad. It was no wonder that the Colonel had gone by his first name! McKay hated the General. Boy, did McKay ever *hate* the General.

The General who treated McKay, who was without a doubt the smartest person in two, count them two galaxies! Like she was, was someone, or perhaps...well, like she was breakable! That was the very last thing McKay was, breakable that is.

Ok, so maybe, just maybe she had a small, tinny-tiny, little bitty, teensy-weensy, break down.

In the middle of the Gate Room at the SGC, but really, it could have happened to any body!

After all the Wraith had been defeated by a virus Dr. Jennifer Keller had made based on Carson Beckett's work with the Retro-Virus. Everyone got recalled from Atlantis to come back to Earth. Lt. Colonel Sheppard had disappeared on some fool quest to look for Elizabeth Weir, who was more than likely by this time, more Relicatior than human. Plus weeks before rumors of Ford began to surface. When the government destroyed Atlantis that had been the last McKay could take.

So, yeah, McKay had been just a bit worried. As she had screamed her worries at Zelanka in the Gate Room,

"Oh, worried! I'm not worried! Why would I be worried about anything! Let me think? It's just the fact that the fate of the universe may every well rest in the hands of an insane drug-addicted lost boy, a half-Relicatior with delusions of universal peace, and a moronic, suicidal, savoir complexed, flyboy with stupid hair. So, no, Radek. I'm not worried about a *goddamned* thing!!!"

Then came the two big ass Marines, the clone of Carson Beckett, Dr. Keller and a huge needle. After that everything kind of went hazy and dark.

Later, much later, McKay learned of the new Sheppard...General Sheppard. The one, who McKay was sure, was trying to ruin her life?

Yes, Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay hated General John Edward Sheppard.

The real reason was quite simple actually. General John Edward Sheppard was the mirror image of the one man; Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay had loved.

So really, what else could McKay do but glare her displeasure?

Chapter End Notes:
I think i have a good idea here. But i think this story is going to need some help. So, ummm, help. /o/ :throws hands up and screams:
