"God. He'd almost died. He didn't want to dwell on it, but he'd almost thrown his life away with his stupid stunt."

It always struck me as unfair that people would get judge Rodney for shooting up. Yes it was a incredibly stupid plan, but the guy had been doped to the gills for weeks! Any plan at that point was bound to be sub-par!

Awesome. It always pisses me off when people place a non-con warning, when clearly it's rape! But you've walked that ambiguous line very well here. And Rodney forcing John to continue on Atlantis was horrifying. They're such screwed up people.

Your writing has come a long way since that BSDM series. Hurt/Comfort(?)/Resolution. Good character motivations and the angst is just killing me!

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your compliment! I\'m doing this just for fun, but it\'s always wonderful to hear my writing is actually getting better;-)

Awesome! Feel free to keep writing this AU forever, if the moods strikes you. I'll keep reading it :). I love how the gang is still themselves, despite being completely different. And the way the web keeps getting more and more complex is fantastic.

Highlights: Rodney created Atlantis! OMG YES!
Rodney being far more mature and reasonable about the whole Vivian thing, then regular Rodney would ever be, without seeming out of character!
Dragons, hello!
And of course, Sora always makes my day. But how could Ian even be in Atlanis? In "Return of the dragons" you made a big stink of it, that the use of dark magic could destroy the city... or was that just if Dark magic was used against?

Author's Response: Hi!\r\n1) Ian in Atlantis - in my head it happened like this: In the 1st part they found a way to interlink dark and white for everyone (that is, not just for Rodney) - under supervision at first, of course. And then a lot of things happened - including Sora coming to Atlantis. So Rodney had to find a way to make the presence of dark magic less dangerous for the city. I\'m sure he took it as a personal challenge. Besides, he had *months*!\r\n2) Rodney and maturity: I think he can be mature, if something/someone he *really* cares about is involved:-)\r\n\r\nThank you very, very much for commenting!
Chapter 1: Part 1

Summary: Not every culture objects to same-sex couples but that doesn't necessarily work in one's favour. A forced date to what may be a zoo.

I completely agree with Tali. Also: DON'T YOU DARE CRUSH HIS JOY! ;)

Author's Response: Rodney and joy rarely go together, wouldn\'t want to take it away. Glad you enjoyed it.

What happened? Did you do a rewrite? I'm sure there was more of this. He went to talk to Carter at least. Love this btw.

I'm loving this and I'm not even really a Mckay/Carter shipper. Hell, I'm not even really a HET shipper!

Author's Response: Well I\'d be glad to convert you to the dark side ;)! \r\n\r\nGlad you like it. Thanks for the review, \r\nHugs, \r\n~JD

I'm sort of hoping the reason this thing never went anywhere, was because it took centuries to charge. ;)

Wow. This is song fic?!? I didn't even notice! My mind is hardwired to skip over cursive poetry like bits or something. This didn't really need anything other then your own words to give it strength anyway. And it was a doozy of a read. :)

One niggle; did you copy/paste from the prequel? Cuz we do read that carefully you know...

...well it's not like a lot of people live on most of those planets... so... anyway... Yikes. Makes me wonder what they did. I mean, I know what they did, but not exactly how they did it.

Author's Response: I left that deliberately obtuse. In my mind, it\'s a ritual gone horribly wrong. But who knows, really? Maybe it\'s just a terrible misunderstanding.
Chapter 1: 1/1

Summary: Rodney got his new SX-7 two weeks after he'd ordered it. Him. It. Whatever.

Oh noes Jeannie! Poor John. I totally buy her reaction, because when you get right down to it, it is a little weird. But then, traditional is over rated. Will Rodney spur the campaign to have AI's recognized as sentient lifeforms?
Chapter 7: 7. Family

Summary: Rodney McKay is a sentinel without a guide, but he's still the smartest man in Atlantis.

Hee. The kissing thing was fun. I've always thought kissing a smoker was like licking an ashtray and I can only imagine what it would be like for a sentinel. More wacky senses please!

One slight niggle. The mist aliens didn't trap the entire command staff on fake Earth together.

John was led to believe he went back with Teyla and Ford and Rodney thought he went back with Elizabeth. They all thought the others went back to Atlantis to hold the fort.

I get why you guy's mixed up the pairings and this is an AU, so it's only a slight niggle.

I really loved it that you fleshed out this world a little. What's up with the center? And isn't there any protection for sentinels in place? More please :).

Author's Response: Actually, no, all five of them (the team plus Elizabeth) went back together but they were each, aside from John and Teyla who shared a world because she had no memories of her own of Earth to draw on, were in individual dream worlds, only interacting with dream versions of each other. But you\'re right that Elizabeth and Rodney saw more of each other because they were the ones at the SGC, and a version one of them, I forget which, interacted with Ford in his dream. We rewatched eps of season one a lot while writing this. ;) More to come in future chapters about the Center.

Cool. I'm really happy they haven't got a clue John's not a guide now. Because they're really not going to understand why Rodney is acting so deranged!

I just want to say, I really love it how you keep making these little AU changes. Will there be bigger consequences to Rodney having these gifts in this reality? I know you've been following the S1 plots pretty closely, but there's no reason he couldn't make a radical difference. You've really been in top form with the original fiction bits. Don't be afraid to let go of the canon. We've all seen S1, but we haven't seen what you guy's can make of it yet :).

Author's Response: THanks for the comments! I think you\'ll see in the later chapters that Rodney comes to use his senses more - being guideless, he\'s very much relied on his intellect first and foremost and down-played his sentinel abilities because he couldn\'t rely on them (having Sam mock him probably didn\'t help that matter any). With John\'s support (and that of the rest of the people on Atlantis) he\'s coming to trust himself more in using more than his brains when it comes to situations where he can use them. Major re-writes of the last few episodes are coming, have no fear - and then there\'s the sequel dealing with season two... ;)

OMG Rodney shot Kolya! You mentioned earlier that Sentinels traditionally had a very protective instincts. Was it these instincts that made him act so aggressively?

Author's Response: Definitely; he wasn\'t going to allow Kolya to come back and hurt them again - plus he put John\'s life in danger, that leads to a very angry Rodney - not a good thing ;)
Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Summary: Missing scene for Tablua Rasa. Rodney unknowingly creates future problems for himself when he has an encounter while his memories are fading. I suck at summaries sorry. Rated M for later chapters and just in case.

Well, at 15 weeks it's a little late to 'think' you want to keep the baby. That baby's not going anywhere anymore...

Author's Response: I suppose it depends on where ou are in the world. Where I am from it\'s legal to hae an abortion until week 24. But it\'s neither here nor there. I always intended for her to keep the baby.
Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary: A very terrible version of Atlantis email records. I am so sorry. Rated for language only. Anyone is free to add an email.
