I can't get over how terrible a thing they did - had to do? To kill child Rodney so that adult Rodney would revive and John lies by omission. Truly, though, this was a no win situation. Really, very well written tragedy.

Summary: Rodney accepted that one day he might die on an alien planet...he just didn't want to be killed by giant bats...or giant anything for that matter. Not a death fic

"Rodney McKay. Do I get your name, or would that obliterate the baffling veil of mystery you shroud yourself in?"
SGA/Discworld crossover. Yes, you've read that right. Includes completely unimportant character death.

This is such a fun story - it could be a series.

Summary: It made no sense that Rodney should want that particular penguin. John slid where Rodney preferred to walk, burning his energy like he might be missing something. John didn't squawk, he drawled, and he'd never shown any interest in the stars Rodney studied every night.

It's a wonderful story and I am enjoying them getting in touch with feelings and each other.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your kind comments. I do worry from time to time, that I dwell on their feelings too much, but those are the parts of the characters that interest me most. It\'s reassuring to hear that other people like it too :)

Summary: He'd been told in the mandatory counselling - necessitated by "his" continued inability to get on with most of the personnel on Atlantis - that teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. He could definitely say it helped his teamwork skills when the shared vision was not dying horribly. Kavanagh based.

Saw that coming. Ritual sacrifice resumed. *sigh*

Author's Response: Sorry you found that element of the plot too cliche or not original enough - though really getting true originality in plot is hard. The reasons for the sacrifice are a bit more involved historically than the random let\'s kill people to appease the Gods, even if it seems that way, but I understand if you don\'t wish to stick around to read anymore of the story. Though I would hope the one disappointing plot point doesn\'t detract from the character or action aspects of the story.

Summary: The Goa'uld are gone, the world is at peace and the history of the SGC is known by every schoolchild. Or is it? A once trusted friend is now the enemy while those left fight to stay alive and search for way to be free again.

Interesting story but with so many protagonists, my favorite (Rodney) is sadly getting lost in the crowd.

Summary: After Rodney is held hostage on a trade mission, he starts to fall apart. When he won't admit anything's wrong, he's sent back to Earth to recover, and it's up to John to pick up the pieces.

Oh my. How utterly heartless Vaal is. I'm surprised Rodney is even at all lucid. I'm sure I wouldn't be. Very good, very tight, writing.

Summary: Rodney doesn't know how to do this alone anymore.

Fascinating aspect of Teyla. Very unexpected but so much more agreeable than the usual (and less acceptable) vengence seeking John (as that is usally only about sexual passion (I won't call it love) rather than pain of a hurt family member).

Summary: It was Rodney's nature to be repellent. It was the Pegasus Galaxy's nature to take it to the next level. It took volcanoes, Wraith, genetic experiments and Genii to show Rodney that not everyone sees him the same way.

I am intriguied.

Hm, kind of a reverse Flowers for Algernon. I cried, really. Very powerful story.

Summary: Rodney's not the only sentinel on Atlantis.

Was there any plot here? I liked this better when it was more than just sex.

Summary: John watched in horrified fascination as Rodney literally choked on his words, strangely-shaped objects spilling from his mouth in utter silence except for his coughing and ragged breath.

How dismal for them. No nest ending and this is just like life, in fact, even if the illness is made up. Very well written.

Summary: Drowning had never been a fear Rodney needed to embrace. Trust, relying on others, and having to betray his own secrets, however, was something that kept him awake at night. Friendship, whump, genetic manipulation, homicidal tree huggers...

Sheppard seems to be taking this oddly personally. It's not as if Rodney were hiding something that related specifically to anyone else. Seems as if Radek is the only one with the right empathy. You've captured the varying reponses very well.
