Summary: Atlantis has gained its independence. Now they must stand on their own and prepare to rid Pegasus of the Wraith. At the same time, they may have to fight against enemies both in Pegasus and back on Earth who have their own objectives for Atlantis.

Is that just a sly little one shot 'Supernatural' cameo or do get to see more of the boys.

heh, the 'boys' are probably the only ones that carry as many weapons as Ronon. :)

(John peered over where she was indicating. "Sam and Dean Winchester. Why?"

"Oh." Vala crossed her arms and shook her head. "Another couple. Honestly, are there no men here who like women?"

"They're brothers," Evan said slowly. "I'm fairly certain they're straight, too. Well, as straight as anyone with the gene is."

"Brothers?" Vala perked up. "Excuse me, gentlemen."

The three of them watched her go and once she was out of earshot John asked, "You think we should warn them?"

"I'm sure they've dealt with worse," Evan said with a shrug.)

Summary: What drives that strength of character? McKay didn't know either John Sheppard well enough to fully understand. Add in a reporter, a desire for truth and a taste of what "could be" & that unsigned non-disclosure agreement could be a problem. Vegas-fic.

Nice, I'm alway on the look out for more 'Vegas storie & this one looks good. Hope for more soon.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review. I truly appreciate the kind words. I\'m being super careful as I craft this little universe but I\'m having fun doing so. Vegas presented a nicely, essentially, blank canvas to build off of. Enough things that we learned in the episode are different from \"Our Atlantis\" that a writer (like me) who is more used to fully original fic can have a bit of a field day. Glad to hear that you\'re enjoying what I put out so far and hope that you\'ll continue to do so as the story progresses.

Author's Response: So glad you\'re enjoying the story (I\'ve already submitted the next chapter; just waiting for it to post). I\'ve been afraid that I\'m either confusing everyone, or turning them off with the slight differences to the characters we \"know\" from the show. I just, thought about it and realized that different experiences would produce slightly different personalities. Ex: A Rodney McKay not tempered by John Sheppard\'s friendship and things like that. Hope you\'ll continue to enjoy things as it goes along. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
