Author's Response: It was John who got the hurt and Rodney who got the comfort, wasn\'t it? I hadn\'t thought of it that way, but you are to correct. I haven\'t planned on what\'ll happen with John\'s family, but yeah, I think they may be a big confrontation one day. Or a reconciliation of some sort. It\'s a fun universe to develop and let unfold.

Awww. :) Thanks for that, it's nice to see Insecure-About-Their-Relationship!John for a change. Not that I don't love Rodny emotional whump (and you did manage to slip some in there nicely with him saying if anything, John would leave him first), but having him be the (marginally) steady rock is a nice change of pace. I do think Rodney has it in him to be that way, too -- his stubborn side allows for it, and I think you effectively got that across.

Summary: It was nice to be back on Earth without any real emergency. No kidnaping, no deaths in either of their families. Just John's typical embarrassing heroic injury: falling out of a not-quite elm while rescuing some sniveling Pegasus brat's snarling, spitting not-quite-kitten.

*SQUEEEEE* Loved every bit of that, great idea, great resolution! Especially loved this line: "The only part of this I'm enjoying," he said, "is the part where you're not dead."

Summary: They lose the Daedelus at the beginning of the fifth year. That's the first night John crawls into bed with him.

Ooooh, the angst! Soooo delicious!!!!!! So long as you put it back in as nicely as you did here, feel free to rip my heart out again and again like that anytime! *G* Loved the bits where Teyla and Ronon comforted Rodney, too. Also, not that I mind smut at all, but this was a primo example of how a McShepper story can be fantastic -- and long -- without it. Bravo!

Summary: Rodney headed out in a pretty good mood. He'd been able to replace his bag, he had a new Prada jacket, and he'd gotten a seat on the El. If the AP class was less stupid than usual and he got a chance to talk to John, it'd be a red letter day.

Being a Chicagoan living in Florida now, it was really nice to revist old haunts. *G* A little rushed, but sweet, and the sex was *hot* I am a little depressed about the time they spent apart, though. XD
