John reflects on some of his regrets
Spoilers for Outcast
Updated: 20 Feb 2008; Published: 18 Feb 2008
Oh, don't even tempt me like that! You finish an amazing story complete with all of the fluffy mushy stuff that I'm such a sucker for and then you say that you may continue it...
It isn't nice to tease.
It *would* be great to see John's conversation with Teyla and Ronon though. :)
But that still didn't negate the fact that his reasons were still there. Carved into him. A constant reminder that he wasn't good enough. That he'd never be good enough. 5/3

I loved Rodney's latest reason... :)
Author's Response: Thank you!
Rodney wondered if anyone else got a postcard in their email.

Hmmmmm....I wonder who it could be from? *Please* write more so that I won't die from curiosity!
Author's Response: Now, I can\'t have you dying from curiousity, now can I? Don\'t worry. I\'ll add some more.
Hmm. Well, I have my own ideas as to who it could be, but I will wait patiently for you to post another chapter.
Wonderfuly mysterious! :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I hope that I don\'t disappoint!
Dun dun DUN!! Holy Whombats singing in the shower! *That* was a heck of an update! Rodney's 'non-mysterious' sender is really trying to be open with himself here. Wow...
This continues to keep me waiting in anticipation for the next chapter. Thanks so much! :)
Author's Response: No, thank you! I\'m glad you like it so much!
Oh you're such a tease! There's only one person it could be though....
Author's Response: :P I know.
Yea! I was spot on! I love it when that happens...just like I love John's sweat pants. ;)
Of course, you had me doubting myself a couple of times. Chapter 4 had me wondering for a moment...
I just love this so much! It's so different from most other things that I have read. I can't wait for more! :)
Author's Response: I\'m glad I could keep you on your toes and I\'m glad that you like it! Thanks!
Drowning had never been a fear Rodney needed to embrace. Trust, relying on others, and having to betray his own secrets, however, was something that kept him awake at night. Friendship, whump, genetic manipulation, homicidal tree huggers...

Yay! Still here! *waves*
I want to *strangle* the chick that said bad things about Rodney! Sooo uncalled for!
However, I must cheer for the guy who defended him. Yay Marlow!
I feel bad not only for Rodney, though. I feel bad for John as well, thinking that it was his fault.
I can wait for more fun to commence! :)
Author's Response: Waves back! Glad your still here! You are absolutly right, the women is just mean. Hopefully McKay won\'t have to deal with too much of that attitude. Maybe we should have John send Ronon after them... :D
Chapter 5: Living with Clipped Wings
Rodney with gills...I find that most interesting. Of course, now I have all kinds of questions that *must* be answered. (hint, hint)
More soon, please! :)
Author's Response: Of course there are many questions to be answered, patience young grasshopper. :) Thanks for the encouragment and great review!
Chapter 1: No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service
Yay! A new chapter!
I feel so bad for Rodney. He probably thinks that his friends are going to abandon him in some way even though they obviously aren't.
I love how you had Ronon sticking up for him. You made him the voice of emotional reason and that made me so happy!
As for your end notes...Are you kidding?! No, I don't have a problem with all of these new and exciting factors in Rodney's life! They make for an interesting and original read.
I can't wait for your next update! :)
Author's Response: THanks! lol, I\'m very glad your enjoyiung it so far! Ronon is a great character, and if you like him now you\'ll like him even more later :)
Yay times!! I saw that this was updated and I couldn't help but squee! This continues to hold my attention and continues to have me waiting on the edge of my seat for more updates.
I love that you had Rodney all confused and thrown off at the people who thanked him in the mess. It was so great! I read that part and I couldn't help but melt into a big, sappy puddle!
Thank you so much for this delightful story!
Author's Response: You are most welcome! The fact that yourself and others are enjoying it so much makes it so much more rewarding to write!
Wow...just wow. That was so interesting! I loved learning about how Rodney's body is able to sustain gills and how he is able to use them. It was facinating!
I can't wait to learn more!
Author's Response: Thanks! I am always glad to get a \'wow!\' It makes my face hurt from smiling.
Chapter 4: Defense Mechanism
Oh gosh!! I do hope that Rodney will be okay...
I am so glad that Rodney finally is coming to realize that he a *real* family on Atlantis and not one that will willingly hurt him.
This is so fantastic! :)
Author's Response: Well thank you very much!! My face hurts from grinning.
Chapter 7: Secrets of a Child
While I am sad that this particular story is over, I am quite glad that you have decided to make this into a series. I absolutely agree with you that there are way too many questions that need answering.
This chapter was amazing. The scene between Ronon and Rodney was priceless and having Dr. Parrish witness Rodney's fall from the balcony was hilarious! Having Rodney hand Ronon the red bandana had me squeeing in delight...I quite embarrassed myself. :)
You had an original subject here and it was so refreshing to see how well this was done. It could have been cheesy or just plain bad, but you pulled this off nicely...way to go!!!
Looking forward to more of this series!! :))
Author's Response: yay! I got a squee! :D lol. Thank you very much for the wonderful comments! The last scene between Ronon and Rodney was a pleasure to write, and I\'ll admit that the red bandana part is one of my favourite moments in the story, so I\'m thrilled it went over well :)\r\n\r\nI very glad you\'re looking forward to more of this series, I only hope the future fics will entertain everyone as much as this one :)\r\n\r\nThanks again!

...Yummy...John as a cowboy! Your pic was so delicious!
Thank you for this gift! :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I just couldn\'t seem to get sheriff!John out of my head. :-)

Whoa, this was so great!
I loved Cadman's response to what it was like sharing Rodney's body. 'I mean, the whole time I was in there...well, the best I can come up with is that it was like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.' I laughed so hard!
But, I also loved how she said it was like when Rodney figured out the solution, too.
What am I saying! I just loved all of this! Especially John's personal score for Rodney. :)
Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Understood
He was breaking. And he knew it.

This was so beautiful and sad. The last part of the last sentence was very poignant for me. 'Atlantis was quiet.'
Not only did it create such a stunning visual and emotional picture for me, it also made me realise that one of the similarities that Atlantis and Rodney share is the fact that both of them are always busy, active. But when Rodney became 'quiet', so did Atlantis...
*So* well done.
Author's Response: Aw, thank you. *blush* I\'m glad you liked it.

*blinks rapidly* That was all kinds of goodness and love! *huggles Rodney and Carson, then turns and huggles Mice*
Author's Response: mmmmmhuggles! Thanks, I\'m glad you liked the story!
