Sequel to "Keep Holding On". Rodney is learning his place within the pack, but it's a long journey, and there are a lot of bumps along the road - including an offer Rodney, two months ago, would not have hesitated to take. (Appearances of Characters from SG-1. All pairings excepting McKay/Sheppard background. Spoilers for SG1 Seasons 2 and 3, and maybe more after.)

I'm enjoying this universe you've created very much, and really look forward to the next chapter. I'm particularly enjoying the realistic wolf behaviour that you're portraying here. My degree is in animal science and wolves are of particular interest to me, so if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask ;) Can't wait for the next installment, hope it's soon!
Author's Response: Yay! I\'m glad you\'re liking it! I have to say that most of my wolf knowledge is from the odd Discovery Channel shows, and from applying general \"pack behavior\" that I\'ve found as typical in animals. Seeing my dogs interact with each other helps as well. :) On that note - if you see anything out of place or anything that can\'t be (or just simply *isn\'t*) explained, let me know and I\'ll try to fix it. Thanks bunches!
Still enjoying this very much and glad to see 2 new chapters! Poor Rodney, in danger of losing the center and still off kilter about his new gift. Hopefully he'll learn to embrace it soon and come to trust the pack to be there for him - and I hope Steve the bartender is right, and John decides to pick Rodney as his mate ;)
Author's Response: I\'m glad! Rodney always seems to be in the rough-and-tumble of everything, but he\'ll adjust eventually (hopefully). As for Steve...well, maybe all they needed was a little nudge in the right direction to get the boys thinking about the right things. ;)
Summary: They'd picked him up hours after he'd been released from the stakes, and had immediately started treating the bites topically. It never even occurred to John that there'd be a problem later.

Well done and as others have said, no matter how many times the general plot might have been done, it's always nice to see another take. Especially since you not only showed Sheppard's feelings of guilt about what happened, but Ronon's as well - not to mention portraying Ronon as more than just a 'dumb brute'. Well done ;)
