I'm in the middle of reading this through for the second time in 2 days. I stumbled on it looking for a different story with the same title, and I'm so glad I did. You did a really nice job with Catherine - fandom can be a hyper-critical place for an orignal character, particularly for one getting in the middle of a popular pairing like John/Rodney. Kudos for writing a character that McSheppers like me can really like. Even MORE kudos for having Catherine take care of the rapist herself, instead of being a damsel in distress. As a mother of a daughter, I appreciate any strong female characters I find. I also really liked her integrity about not getting in the middle of their relationship uninvited and for understanding (until things changed) that she did not have a claim on John. I also really appreciated that Catherine so thoroughly owned her own sexuality and had standards for men that wanted to share her bed. The only bit that did not "ring" for me was the supremely short refractory periods evident for John and Rodney, but that's really just a quibble.
Author's Response: I have a daughter, too. Damsels in distress really bug me, too. And as for our intrepid heroes, well, they are supermen, aren\'t they? Thanks so much for taking time to read and write a review. I\'m sorry it\'s taken so long to say thanks, but real life has been much busier than I like for the past few months. Thanks again!
Summary: Evil!Sheppard in a parallel universe. Poor Dr. McKay with a family to feed.
Dr. Rodney McKay must balance his family life with his passionate and yet cold commander at Stargate Command, Colonel John Sheppard.
Het McKay/Brown and McKay/Carter. Non-consensual Sheppard/McKay, Lorne/Chuck, and mention of non-consensual Kowalski/Other male, Jackson/Other female, and O'Neill/Carter.
this series is just wonderful. I believe it is the best and most honest and believable "BDSM lifestyle" piece I have ever read. You are an excellent and thoughtful writer and I appreciate your willingness to share what you have written with us.
Author's Response: LOL I sent you a little email then thought to myself...\'self\' your email will likely end ub in her spam files :) so I thought I would say thanks for your kind feedback and that part seven is at http://www.geocities.com/slashylass/Respite.html just scroll down and you\'ll find it. \r\nHuggles ~H~
Summary: "It was awful and wonderful and kinky and dirty, and best of all, they were doing this together." Rodney never thought that he could trust anyone with his most guarded secrets. He was wrong.
Summary: A story told through e-mail; After the events of "Miller's Crossing," Jeannie asks Rodney about Katie Brown and learns the truth behind the lack of progress in that particular relationship. From John, when Rodney shunts her off onto him.
Summary: A what-if fic speculating on how events would have unfolded if Kavanagh, instead of McKay, had been the last occupant of the alien being Sheppard picked up on that planet in "Doppelganger". It had to happen in some reality, right? Includes an an explanation for his snarkiness and general bad attitude.
I am SO bummed about SGA's cancellation, I suppose this means we won't see Kav again. *weeps*
Author's Response: Heh. Yeah. See the appended note. I\'m surprised that\'s all I got wrong, if it is. My head was spinning pretty bad from being woken up by the screaming angry drunk maniac downstairs. \r\n\r\nThanks for the heads-up! =)
Summary: When John suddenly loses Rodney he finds it an unacceptable loss, but later someone appears who changes everything.
Deathfic but only kind of.
Warnings aka Read at your own risk: There are very many sick things – incredibly sick things – in this story. I assure you, this *will* squick. Just assume it will be way too much for you and you'll be on the safe side.
this is SO SAD!!!! I liked it much better when John found out and made Rodney feel loved, instead of disgusting. I do always enjoy your writing, though.
Summary: John and Rodney have only ever exchanged fond glances and corny jokes, but after they inadvertently activate an Ancient device, the men will encounter a dark world and an even darker John Sheppard. But does this evil John Sheppard have a softer side? Readers are guaranteed to cry or their money back!
Summary: A lot of things come together to make Rodney go a little weird. Pseudo-crossover with First Monday, no outside knowledge required. John/Julian Lodge.
I love this!!!! The last sentence, in conjunction with the paragraph about Sheppard not minding if Rodney was fantasizing about him was absolutely brilliant!!!! Just great.
