wow. chilling and rather creepy. ::shivers:: I'm now anxious for Rodney's brain. And that's *definitely* a sentence only SGA can make me say... great first chapter! wags, springwoof
Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, SGA-fic can give birth to some truly interesting sentences, can't it?
ooo! still creepy...no, *creepier*...wow, ratcheting up the tension, here! Hope there's more soon!
Author's Response: Thanks. I love doing the creepy parts.
Wow. You're certainly ratcheting up the tension! I love the way you're showing us the culture of the Esotherans through your OC's actions, reactions, and attitudes. Really neat! Also, lovelovelove your portrayal of Teyla: “After what your people have done to mine, tell me why I should not simply kill you where you stand.” awesome. The way she considers the Atlanteans "her" people now, as much as the Athosians! Neat how you slipped that in there. Excellent story. I hope there will be more soon! wags, springwoof
Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think that, after everything, Teyla is just as connected to the Atlanteans as she is to the Athosians. I'm glad you're getting a good sense of the Esotheran culture through Midran: I always enjoy creating alien cultures.
I've been eagerly following this story. How chilling your descriptions are! I'm equally horrified (poor Rodney! poor Rodney's friends!) and rivited. Hope you post more soon! wags, springwoof
Author's Response: Thanks! More will probably be up later tonight, and there will be more of Rodney and hsi friends for you to pity. *Trust* me.
aack! that last line! you keep *doing* that! chilling, again. can't wait for the next chapter. wags, springwoof
Author's Response: Sorry, I really love cliffhangers. More will be up soon!
wonderful. I love how scary you're painting Sheppard here, and how you evoked Beckett's misery in an earlier chapter. Wonderful work with all the characters, in a story that doesn't let up on the tension and drama. Looking forward eagerly to the next installment! wags, springwoof
Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, Sheppard is going through several different kinds of hell here and he's really turned scary.
cool fake-out. I really believed that John was going to go through with it. very scary chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks! I think he was definitely tempted.
Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven
that last line was very chilling. bravo! this series is superb. I'm looking forward to the next chapter...
Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you liked it, and more will be up soon.
Chapter 12: Chapter Twelve
Excellent chapter. I especially liked: "Rodney was the kind of man who would want to rage against the dying of the light and the kind of man who would trust his life the best to his own hands." and I liked you showing Zelenka knowing McKay this well...
Author's Response: Thanks! I think Zelenka really *understands* McKay sometimes in a way that the others can't, and also, I got to throw in a little shoutout to "GUP."
Chapter 13: Chapter Thirteen
oh how painful! that moment when Rodney transitions from the illusion into wakefulness and then thinks he's under the influence of the enzyme again is awful. The writing is vivid, even when--maybe especially when--one of the characters is seeing an illusion. very well done.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked Rodney's freakout about the enzyme - - I imagine after that ordeal, seeing himself in restraints again in the infirmary would bring back a few memories.
Chapter 14: Chapter Fourteen
Will Teyla save the day??? Trembling with anticipation!
Author's Response: I think her idea is definitely a good one - - let's just wait to see how it plays out in the execution . . . *grin*
Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen
I loved Ronon's POV, and that scene of he & Sheppard running in the beginning, and the gifts he gave his team, and of Ronon scratching the names into the wall. So much character development in so little space. very nice. And I liked that there were no easy answers, too. great chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks - - since Ronon hasn't had as many chapters as the rest of them, I thought he deserved some development.
Chapter 17: Chapter Seventeen
Unexpectedly blue on his first Christmas in Atlantis, John Sheppard tries to find some comfort.

aawww! what a neat Christmas first-time story. I liked the Christmas party scenes with all the characters in the first part as much as the John & Rodney second part. very nice. wags, springwoof
Author's Response: Hi, ya, springwoof! Thanks so much for your kind words. So glad you enjoyed the story. The first part was fun. I love all the characters on SGA. Anyway, thanks again. Wags right back at you. :)
McKay turns into quite the little handful.

::weeps:: beautiful and very sad. Poor John. Poor WeeRodney. Where's Thor when you need him to fix up a MiniMe? the sense of Rodney as a handful of a child came through very well.
Author's Response: Glad it came through that Rodney was as much a handful as a child as an adult. So happy to hear you liked it.
Summary: It took Elizabeth nineteen days to negotiate John's release.

Oh wow, neat H/C story. I loved: “It’s best to be cautious in matters of the spleen.” and "Love’s like algebra – someone has to show you how to do it." wags, springwoof

The truth is in the telling. (Future-fic)

very well written. nicely ironic
Author's Response: Thanks! It is ironic, isn't it?

And again, YAY!! superduper, magestic, action/adventure space epic...and all we get is this neat, wonderful little scene, where they're on the cusp of the next big thing. sort of like the "my _person__ went to _someplace really nifty___ and all I got was this lousy tee-shirt" but much, much cooler. ::grins:: wags, springwoof
They're on their feet and on their way home.
