Okay, I'm female, 32 and live in Leicester, UK. Big fan of sci-fi in general and obviously Atlantis :). I'm also a huge slash fan. I'll read anyone with Sheppard...does that make me a Shepslut? I particularly like John/Carson and John/Rodney, and better yet John/Carson/Rodney mmmmm. Edited to add Radek...John/Radek or John/Radek in a threesome (or even foursome) with Carson or Rodney *vbg*.

Oh, and Lorne, as well ;).

Nice. I've not seen the ep yet, but that doesn't make this any less great. There's enough detail that I could imagine what was happening around them. I loved their interaction though, John treating the gun problem seriously and not dismissing it like Elizabeth did. And I liked the fact that they both knew they needed to talk even before John gave them a reason to 'talk' :). Laura.

Heh, nice red herring with just what type of magazine it was :). And silly Rodney handing over blackmail material to John so easily *g*. Laura.

Author's Response: I guess it was the black ops thing that scared him.

Well, I don't want to sound like a broken record here, but WOW! This was just so great. I loved all the background you gave Rodney, and that it was chock full of details. Loved the tupperware, and the fact that it was recycled to Missy :). Jeannie was great. Scary but in that protecting family, den mothery type of way. It was funny seeing another McKay temper, and I loved how it rolled off Radek and co. like water off a duck's back, all so used to dealing with Rodney daily :). I was amused that it took so long for John to cotton on to who she was *g*. I also liked Jeannie's ability to read Rodney and translate his little mannerisms. I loved how Missy dragged John everywhere, and how Rodney and Jeannie finally got caught up, and Stevie was great too...unlike the creature Richard, who got his just desserts! Nice cameos from Jack and Daniel too. I really liked John's epiphany in the kitchen, and the way Rodney kept looking concerned after Elizabeth and Kate etc had had a word with him. The ending was great too, I loved that they finally realised their feelings and that going back to Atlantis wasn't going to stop them. Excellent work. Laura.

I loved this. It's such a change to see something from Atlantis' viewpoint, quite ingenious too. I loved seeing the episodes from her pov, recognising the incidents, but seeing them in a completely new way. And her thoughts on John, Carson, and particularly, Rodney were great. I loved the ending, the others concerned about Rodney, but John agreeing with him. Very nice. Laura.

I loved this...in an 'OMG you hurt John' type way :). Of course Kolya would know just how to get John to do what he wanted! I liked the way John and Rodney looked out for each other and gradually got closer almost without realising. The end was great, especially the hand holding and the chasing off of Carson :). Laura.
Chapter 1: Entanglements

Great story. Kolya's actions were horrific, more so because he wasn't doing it for enjoyment or questioning. I liked your take on John and Rodney throughout, how John didn't fight with Rodney's life at stake, and Rodney managed to subdue his usual snark so as not to antagonise Kolya. I was pleased that John got to kill Kolya finally, even if he did understand Kolya's reasons for torturing him. I also liked how Rodney was always there with John, sometimes just a silent presence, but always warm and I liked how that progressed to the hot and life-affirming sex all over the place :). Laura.

OMG this is brilliant. You've really caught John's pain and fear that Rodney is lost to him, and also his hope and faith that he'll get him back...a bit of an emotional rollercoaster in fact! And Rodney too; so scared and in denial, but at the same time unable to take his ring off. Stupid Ancient device! >( Carson and Radek are great too, caught in the middle and trying to help both John and Rodney. I'm really looking forward to part two, but it's 2.30 am, so I'll have to leave it for now :(. Laura.

Oh yes, excellent ending! I loved Miko's joyous offer to let Rodney shout at her some more if it helped him remember names, his initial reaction to Dex and the way his body and subconscious were telling his conscious mind to get with the programme during his MALP talk with John *g*. I was overjoyed when John decided to move back home and just make Rodney get used to it. I hoped along with him that Rodney wearing the ring meant that there was a chance. So I was a little sad when Rodney told him to go :(. But John didn't give up and did the dinner run. Miko's reactions were very funny, as was Radek's discription of the new anthropologist (and Rodney's apparent jealousy) *hee*. And then there was the kiss, yay; followed by the quickly leaving Rodney, boo. I loved Rodney's concern for John when he was stuck without enough oxygen. His conscious mind was really starting to get caught up with what his subconscious was telling him, and it was great to see that spur him onto remembering the names and thus how to save John. His desperate conversation to keep John awake was by turns amusing and nerve wracking, especially towards the end. I also loved his unique way of trying to make John wake up *g*. I felt sorry for John when he woke still thinking Rodney didn't remember, so was happy to see Rodney catch on so quickly :). And it really all just got better from there; sweet, and their love just leapt of the screen. I really loved the way Rodney had so desperately wanted to have everything back in their room, and the effect that the missing photo had on both of them, as well as the effect it's return had :). John making sure that Rodney understood that there was nothing he could have done about any of the deaths, and then deciding to just distract him instead, made me smile. It was a great and happy ending ::sigh of contentment::. Laura.

Oh that's so sad. Of all the things for John to have taken away, why did it have to be flying? Of course, Carson will fix it in the end...Right? Laura.

Author's Response: Consider this one huge, happy thank you for commenting all of my fics! As for John's gene... well, I wanted to do the "dark" theme justice in all senses of the word.

Oh! ::Hugs John::. Not to sound mean, but this was excellent. I loved the way John chose to hide from his torturers by imagining his friends. I think the ending was the most harrowing bit though...is he really home? And if so, can they convince him of that before he completely loses it? Laura.

Author's Response: And if so, can they convince him of that before he completely loses it? That has to remain the unanswered question :)

I loved this. It was painful to see the initial distance, and the strange, polite Rodney. So I was happy when they finally realised that they really should be together and got on with the really hot make up sex *g*. Laura.

Author's Response: Thanks! I think I'm over some of my writer's block about writing sex scenes now. *g*

Our poor intrepid heroes. To think this could have been avoided simply by swapping left and right in the search for the intercom :(. How is it that John can memorise where torches are kept, but not which side of the door he wants? At least they're both on the mend now. I liked the epilogue, being a slasher and all :). Laura.

Author's Response: Dang you spotted some of the remaining plot holes!! LOL! I took liberties with things left right and centre in this fic, I tried to make it as plausible as I could but I did allow some details to get through *hangs head in shame* for the sake of the story. If they had found the intercoms this would have been over so much quicker and far less groping would have taken place, and well I couldn't have that! ;-) I'm really glad you liked the epilogue :-) I've never written anything vaguely slashy before but the epilogue was just begging to be written. *G*
Chapter 2: Epilogue
