Okay, I'm female, 32 and live in Leicester, UK. Big fan of sci-fi in general and obviously Atlantis :). I'm also a huge slash fan. I'll read anyone with Sheppard...does that make me a Shepslut? I particularly like John/Carson and John/Rodney, and better yet John/Carson/Rodney mmmmm. Edited to add Radek...John/Radek or John/Radek in a threesome (or even foursome) with Carson or Rodney *vbg*.
Oh, and Lorne, as well ;).
Summary: Once upon a time there was a big hunk of macho manliness named Specialist Ronon Dex, though his friends called him Rononlocks because of his stylin' dreads.

*blink* *blink* ::undignified snorting and wheezing:: I'd truly love to give you some proper feedback, but I'm afraid I can't stop chuckling long enough, so you'll just have to console yourself with the fact that you made me incoherent :). Laura.

This was *good*. It shows the love and trust they have for each other, and it was hot too :). Laura.
Rodney McKay never made a nuclear bomb in his life. Although it's possible Dr. Sheppard might have made a few.

This is a nice set up. I'm assuming John's *not* going to Belgium? Will Carson be there too? I'd love to see how this Rodney interacts with his nemesis :). It should be interesting when John and Rodney meet up again too, after that awkward and abrupt waking up together. Oh, I was amused by Rodney's teacher being called Mr Waverley...are you an U.N.C.L.E. fan, or is that just a coincidence? Laura.
Hee, poor Rodney having to be polite to John because he got him a free upgrade *g*. I wonder how long it will be before he's under John's spell? It was interesting that they both went into fields of study out of necessity and that they actually wanted to be in each others fields originally. Will we find out why the Air Force didn't take John? I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Laura.
Ah Kavanagh; the job may be different, but the sneer is not! Poor John, he selflessly gives Rodney mouth to mouth and has his meal chosen (and eaten) for him as thanks *g*. I can't wait to see what happens now that they're both going to the same place and will hopefully have to deal with the waking up together issue :). Laura.
Author's Response: The waking up together issue may well be an ongoing theme.
Glad you're enjoying it so far.
Poor Rodney, not only does he have no clue about what he's gotten himself into, but now he learns that one of his bosses is none other than Beckett! *g*. Oh, and I'm still tickled by Kavanagh as a marine :). Laura.
At least Rodney's subconscious knows what it's doing *g*. Lets hope the rest of him catches up before too long. I loved the rather bizarre dinner conversation and Kavanagh's little insights into time travel :). Laura.
General Weir *g*. Poor bewildered Carson, he's so different from our own Carson, who's become immune to Rodney snark over the years. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this. I'm assuming this John has the gene? Laura.
Heh, reverse psychology *g*. I think John's beginning to realise that simple bluntness works much better with Rodney...and laschivous looks can only help :D. And Kavanagh sneered...what a shock that came as *vbg*. Looking forward to the next chapter as always. Laura.
Poor guys, all so in the dark :). I liked how Rodney's starting to cave in his hatred of Carson now he's actually met him and found that he has no idea about the similarity in their research...not that it stopped him being scathing about the 'useless' gene Carson's spent five years researching ::rolls eyes::. Loved all the subtle comments from John, and the footsie too *g*. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Laura.
Eh? What? Head of the CIA? I certainly didn't see that coming *vbg*. Poor Carson, completely bewildered by Rodney...lets hope he gets the hang of dealing with the snark quickly. At least John's there to diffuse situations. And he's sappy too ::is amused::. Laura.
Typical! Just when it looks like they may get a chance to celebrate their 48 hours, the whole world gets in the elevator ::rolls eyes::. Poor Carson didn't have a very nice time of it did he? Maybe Rodney will be a little bit more forgiving now?...Nah, it *is* Rodney ;). I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when John touches stuff for Carson. Of course, I'm assuming that the AU hasn't affected the ATA status and Rodney still doesn't have it and John still has it strongly. It'll be interesting to find out. Laura.
I have to admit that John's practical joke had me going for a bit too. I thought "Okay, it's an AU, why not cross dimensional too, just to really make me pay attention". I'm glad it turned out not to be though, I don't think Rodney could have withstood the stress :). Poor Carson, he seems to be getting more and more nervous every time he runs into Rodney and John, and now he's caught them kissing in the elevator. I hope his nerves can take it *hee*. He seemed on the ball with Rodney at the end though, even if the small talk was awkward he can still deal with actual doctorly stuff. Loved John's last line too :). Laura.
So...maybe not such a practical joke after all? You've got me thoroughly confused now, but in a good way. I'm trying to figure out just what's going on. Are they in the wrong dimension? Or is John going loopy? Can't wait to find out. Laura.
Okay, so John does have the gene and it is stronger than Carson's. And now, presumably, Rodney has it too. It's really fun trying to fgure out what's the same and what's different. And what did this Ancient tech do that got sent to John and Carson? Has it really sent them to another dimension? And just how did Rodney end up there if he didn't get a device and couldn't have activated it if he had got it? And yay, Ford's turned up now too. Laura.
So, Aiden is Radek's step son? *boggles*! John and Rodney's predicament is getting curiouser and curiouser, all that stuff about them having worked together for years. And Carson knew that the artifacts were Ancient, so he must have some idea of what they're meant to be doing in Antarctica? I loved John's declaration to Rodney, that he doesn't want to go back to his own dimension if it means losing Rodney. So sweet, and obviously the right thing to say, if that kiss was any indication :). I also like the fact that they are much freer to do stuff like that as this John doesn't have to worry about the regs. It's a nice change for the pairing :). Laura.
There's being magnanimous, and there's being magnanimous! Not hat I mind Beckett being there too *g*. Just as long as this doesn't mean there was any touching of the dimension switching variety. Laura.
Author's Response: He's a very generous guy, Rodney. Maybe not that generous really, though :)
O-kaaaay, it seems the Jackson family is quite different in this AU *g*. It's nice to learn that Jack's the one closest point of similarity. I liked John's enthusiasm to be piloting again, and Rodney's thoughts on Zelenka's talk of ancient races. I'm so looking forward to seeing his reaction to mention of Atlantis after his thought regarding it *vbg*. And, is that a *real* Ancient there at the end? I'm really intrigued about that, and am also looking forward to seeing the place light up for John. Laura.
Finished? *wahhh* ;). Great ending. the confusion was very funny *g*. I'm glad they seem to be adapting to this new reality well, that it feels like home, and I'm glad they shifted together too. I'd love to see what happens down the line when Rodney has some massive insight into an alien mollusc, or John solves some difficult physics problem. I wonder if the Atlantis personnel would realise they'd got the wrong ones then! *vbg*. Laura.
Author's Response: Ooh, I am so tempted to write it.
Maybe... who knows...
I'm glad that the fate of the other John and Rodney has been dealt with. I couldn't see either of them fully relaxing into these new roles if there was a possibility of the others returning, or worse, being stuck in some hell dimension or some such :). And it's great to see that they may know nearly everything the others did, but they're still themselves; Rodney's thoughts about him being nicer and more tolerant prove that. Great story :). Laura.
