Okay, I'm female, 32 and live in Leicester, UK. Big fan of sci-fi in general and obviously Atlantis :). I'm also a huge slash fan. I'll read anyone with Sheppard...does that make me a Shepslut? I particularly like John/Carson and John/Rodney, and better yet John/Carson/Rodney mmmmm. Edited to add Radek...John/Radek or John/Radek in a threesome (or even foursome) with Carson or Rodney *vbg*.
Oh, and Lorne, as well ;).
Beta-reader: No
Summary: Everybody hurts...even John Sheppard, as much as he keeps it on the inside. Warning - bad language / disturbing theme.

I'm glad John's first session with Kate went ok and that he managed to tell her about his father and how it affected his feelings toward Carson. I liked seeing our John back when he had words with the marine, and am interested to see what, if anything, he'll do about the Ford issue. And finally, I'm happy to see that the air is cleared between he and Carson, hopefully they can put this behind them now and get on with being friends. Laura.
I'm so pleased to hear there will be a part two soon. I'd love to see some more between John and Rodney, and indeed Aiden. But at least Teyla may get a better understanding through the book and start to treat him normally again. I'm glad, too, that John's self harm urges have lessened both in frequency and intensity, and also that Carson didn't make a fuss. I'm eager to read the sequel, especially if your characterisations continue to be so well written. Laura.
Chapter 19: Epilogue To A Tale Of Sadness
Summary: In the end, it was just him.
Updated: 19 Aug 2005; Published: 19 Aug 2005
Well, I've sat staring at the review box for several minutes, trying to figure out what to say. I'm still not entirely sure, but I'll try. This was so sad, hearing how few made it out of Atlantis and then how they gradually lost them one by one, until only John and Rodney remained. It was good to know that they found each other and some happiness for a time, but then that just made it hurt more when John thought about losing Rodney :(. And his thought about being the last one, with no one to bury him...::sniffle::. And then, to add insult to injury, the Wraith took him too. I choose to believe he got to be with Rodney again finally, it cheers me up a little. Laura.
Author's Response: Oh, of course he got to be with Rodney again. Rodney waited for him just as John knew he would. :) Thank you.
Summary: In the aftermath of another mistake that could have been prevented.
Updated: 04 Sep 2005; Published: 20 Aug 2005
Poor Rodney :(. I liked the Daniel bit, it sounded like something he would say, and it obviously was something Rodney could relate to. As for his worries about having lost John's trust for good, I'd like to hope that he's simply overreacting in typical McKay fashion, and John will prove him wrong. This is great for a first attempt, keep it up. Laura.
Author's Response: Thanks you muchly! I really hope that Rodney is overreacting as well. From the expression on John's face, I'd say that it wouldn't be that hard for Rodney to get back into good-staniding in John's eyes. Unfortunately, I'm not certain that Rodney would ever be able to allow himself to see that forgiveness. He certainly seems to carry the weight of the other deaths that he feels he should have been able to prevent...his little speech about the guy, whose name I have just lost, who spent the last 30 days of his life figuring out what he had done to eradiate himself so that no one would ever have to experience it again. So that the lose of his life wasn't a waste. I think that may have been what made this come out.
Chapter 1: another mistake...
This is a great look at John's internal conflict; wanting to be angry at Rodney for his giant mistake, but not being able to do it with the image of Rodney's eyes in his mind. I was intrigued by the panic John felt not being his, and the fact that Atlantis guided him where he needed to be. And *eep* Rodney :(. I'm glad John's in time to talk him down...he is, right? ::is on edge of seat::. Laura.
Author's Response: Thanks. I'm intrigued by the panic too. And with John and the balcony and Rodney, I swear that the chapter is coming up.
Oh thank heavens. I was hugely worried at the end of chapter two, when John saw Rodney looking ready to jump. I'm very relieved to see that he has no intention of doing so. I'm both proud and sad at his resolve to carry on regardless of his loss of Elizabeth, Radek and John...but I can't wait to see what John's going to say. I don't think he's as lost as Rodney thinks. Laura.
Author's Response: There's something noble in continuing on when you're needed and not giving in to despair even though you still carry it with you...difficult and strong and noble. It's seems to be more about self-sacrifice and not really caring if you are lost..."we're lost in the trees, but he likes to be there" [bad paraphrase of Firefly]...because even if you're lost, it's by choice and you can lead others out...I'm not certain that made sense, but--yeah.
Chapter 3: walking the razor's edge...
I inspired you? Yay me! ::blushes::. I wonder what Rodney would have seen in John's face if he'd only looked up? Still, he's on the right side of the railing at least, now if only John can try to be a bit less sharp next time, things might go a little smoother :). Laura.
Author's Response: Yeah, I really like reading your reviews because you invariably find something that was playing in the back of my head and has reached the page but generally gets ignored...even by my beta. It really kinda made me annoyed that John was being sharp [which sounds really insane, but, eh], but I can see him coming off too harsh when he's worried...kinda Jack-like.
Chapter 4: …one misstep and you could fall
Yay Radek :). I'm glad he's talked to Rodney and straightened out their friendship. And he talks sense too :). I'm looking forward to John finding him next. I also liked Rodney's thoughts on John and Atlantis, how Atlantis would probably goad John into finding him and that John acts almost like Atlantis' avatar, but doesn't realise it. Intriguing ideas. Laura.
Author's Response: I'm so proud of Radek in this. He's one of my favortie characters on the show and in the fanfic...adorable geek, super-genius, but has some sense. I'm intrigued by the idea of John-as-Avatar [one of those things that you saw that really got overlooked, I think]. Hearts of Atlantis by kyrieane is what put that thought initially in my head. An absolutely beautiful, heartrenching piece...also, way too much Andromeda. ;]
Chapter 5: where there is doubt, faith…
I'm amused by the idea of John arguing with Atlantis in his head, especially as she seems to be a little snarky herself :). It's a shame Radek spoiled his big speech by already having given it earlier *g*. Still, actual smiling, so I'm happy. Laura.
Author's Response: Yeah, I felt bad for John not getting to make his grand gesture of solidarity...though, I do like the West Wing bits. Maybe I'll write a cross-over *scribbles furiously for a moment*. And the simple response of "Radek" sounds so like Rodney to me. The idea of John arguing with Atlantis tumbled out of several different fics, but also had some help from Chocolatey Goodness by madpoetess [Buffy fanfic]...she has this hysterical set of arugements that Spike has with himself. Too funny.
Chapter 6: …and it’s in pardoning that we are pardoned
Poor Rodney, all confused by John *touching* him. I'd like to think that John kissing him has made it clear, but this is *Rodney*, so I'm sure he's still confused ;). Laura.
Author's Response: Yeah, pretty much. I do think he may have caught up without too much confusion, but it probably required his brain melting first.
Ahhh. A sweet ending, and Rodney obviously caught on quickly :). Laura.
Author's Response: Well, after shagging I guess he would have to...but, as you wrote, this is Rodney. Thank you for your lovely reviews.
Summary: How Rodney deals with the events of the Atlantean defense satellite. This is an AU of kmanderson and my AU Campfic. What if Rodney and John on Atlantis are the Rodney and John from Campfic. Remember this is AU of the AU, so no, I'm not spoiling anything except for the first 3 chapters of Campfic. Anything else, comes from my own mind.

Poor Peter :(. Poor Rodney too. I'd love to know if John truly doesn't remember the camp, and whether Rodney finds the way to tell him that he still feels the same. Laura.
Author's Response: Thank you. I might make a sequel. I didn't expect people to want one. ^_^ Thank you!
Summary: No summary because this is straight up PWP. No angst, just sex. (Spoilers for Trinity.)
Updated: 20 Aug 2005; Published: 20 Aug 2005
Well, what can I say other than "Guh!"? This was incredibly hot, made more so by the obvious trust they share, and the vision of Rodney, normally all talk and gesture, having to be so still and silent. I loved John's anger-but-not about Rodney risking his life too. Great stuff, very hot *vbg*. Laura.
Author's Response: :) Rodney, being silent, is still strange for me even after writing this but it's an intriguing concept, no? Thank you, Laura!
Summary: spoilers for Condemned
Updated: 20 Aug 2005; Published: 20 Aug 2005
Oh this was *good*! Silly John, thinking he could stay away from Rodney ::shakes head::, at least he's come to his senses now...and it only took one of hot sex to change his mind *g*. Shame about John's favourite puddle jumper though :(. Laura.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad it worked for you.
Watching the end of the episode, I was really sad about that puddlejumper. *g*
Summary: The city of Atlantis wishes to speak with her new people.
Updated: 21 Aug 2005; Published: 21 Aug 2005
Wow *blinks*. I really like this, it's an interesting pov and also interesting for all the things Atlantis could show them if she just had enough power. And I love the idea of her matchmaking too :). Laura.
Summary: Sheppard finds himself intrigued by Ronon, Rodney gets jealous and plots revenge. Rating for last chapter.
Updated: 30 Aug 2005; Published: 22 Aug 2005
I'm loving this so far. Poor, jealous, Rodney and his revenge plans...I hope they don't backfire on him. And John, eyeing up Rodney, Ronon *and* Caldwell :D. I loved that last bit with Dex watching the invisible tennis match between John and Caldwell. I hope we see some of it from his pov; it would be interesting to get his actual thoughts while he watches them. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. aura.
Author's Response: Thank you! John is such a slut, isn't he? :) I was thinking about the Caldwell/Ronan bit being from Ronan's POV - not quite sure I totally have him down yet, but it'd be fun to try.
Excellent chapter. The Caldwell/John stuff was very funny *g*. I can't wait to see what happens between Caldwell and Ronon as Dex seems to be making his own mischievous plans :). I hope Rodney knows what he's doing. He's achieved the aim of jealous John, but he's hurt Radek in the process and now roped poor Parish in. Lets hope it doesn't all go horribly wrong- John's only been looking after all, Rodney's planning on a little more than that. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see how all these threads progress. Laura.
Author's Response: Thank you! I amused myself writing it. I don't want anyone to get hurt either, but poor Zelenka just walked right into that one. It's okay, I may have to write another story just to give Radek the love he so richly deserves. But the question is, with whom?
Poor Radek :(. But I'm really happy to see John and Rodney finally getting themselves sorted out. The Ronon/Caldwell sizing-up was good too, I wonder where Caldwell's taken Ronon?. Laura.
Excellent ending. It's good to see John, Rodney, Caldwell and Dex all ending up happily. I also liked how John explained his enjoyment at seeing Dex as nothing to worry about (and hiding his own jealousy when Rodney commented on Dex himself *g*). As for Rodney-the-novice! Go him! *vbg*. Laura.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm working on the sequel.
Summary: [S2 Spoilers] The musings of a dying man...
Updated: 22 Aug 2005; Published: 22 Aug 2005
Oh! You had me going there, all upset over John gradually fading away, and saddened by Rodney, Elizabeth and Teyla's various last visits...And then, suddenly, you hurl Genii torture in from left field! I really wasn't expecting that, but I was pleased that it meant John wasn't gone and would live to fight another day ::huge sigh of relief::. Laura.
