Let's see, what can I tell you about myself. I'm 33 and live in Pittsburgh. I'm a primary care doc by training, a psychiatrist by inclination, and I do research in both. Dr. Dredd was a nickname given to me during medical school. I'm not sure if it was meant to be complimentary, but I use it with pride anyway!
If it's not already obvious,I've liked the doctor characters on the sci-fi shows, from Leonard McCoy in the first Star Trek to Julian Bashir in DS9 to Janet Frasier in SG-1. And last but definitely not least, Carson Beckett. I try to write stories where I can get into the characters' heads. This often leads to both physical and psychological whumping. All in a good cause.
I love dogs. All shapes and all sizes, and I'm especially a sucker for puppies. I grew up with two bichon frises, and am dying to get another one now that I have my own place. Unfortunately, the landlord of the building where I live doesn't allow dogs. So I'm now looking to move! Stay tuned.

Wow. This is a very compelling story. You've got all the characters down very well. John's and Rodney's reactions are believeable, and Caldwell's the same little shit he is on the show. I hope there's more coming!
Author's Response: There's definitely more on the way; I intend to take this story to the end. It won't be an easy journey, but hopefully you'll continue to find it entertaining. Thanks for the comment.
Summary: Rodney is allergic to citrus.
Updated: 24 Oct 2005; Published: 24 Oct 2005
Hmm... biting Beckett. Very very naughty. :-) Nice look into Rodney's thoughts about his allergy.
Author's Response: Thank you. Ah, yes, biting Beckett. We wish we got that chance. :)
Summary: Rodney and Ronon survive a harrowing experience and return to Atlantis after all hope had been lost. This is a horror story written for Halloween.
Updated: 27 Oct 2005; Published: 26 Oct 2005
Holy crap. I SO did not see that one coming. Is Rodney permanently paralyzed? If so, he's going to have way too much time on his hands to think about what happened. I feel bad for Carson, too. Imagine finding your girlfriend like that. *shudder* Amazing writing job!
Summary: "You're telling me that I am in Atlantis. Atlantis, as in the mighty, mystical, wowzaa, sunken city! WTF?"
Clearly this was not Xander's day.
Slash Pairing: Xander Harris/Rodney McKay (BtVS/SGA)
Written for lj community crossovers100.

I can definitely see the similarities between Rodney and Xander. The two kings of snarkiness. And nice touch mentioning Ethan Rayne, who was languishing in an Initiative cell the last time we saw him...
Author's Response: :D If he were free, he'd so be responsible for this kind of ... mess. :)
Chapter 1: Blue-skinned Vampires from Outer Space
Summary: Have you ever wondered how all the folks in the Pegasus Galaxy keep from running out of clean clothes? Many thanks to Deirdre for beta and laughter in the right places.
Updated: 28 Oct 2005; Published: 27 Oct 2005
* snort * The wee lad! Good one. Liked the bit about kilts. I can understand why Carson doesn't want to go "commando style." :-)
Author's Response: His mum always warned him to wear clean shorts, just in case. (There does seem to be an abundance of 'cases' in Atlantis, dontcha think?) Thanks for reading!
Summary: Written for the flashfic Harlequin challenge. Not to be taken remotely seriously.

*snerk* Good one! And Rodney as "talks-with-big-mouth" works perfectly.
Summary: "Because, you are a Marine in the United States Military. You've traveled to other worlds. You've taken on System Lords without blinking an eye. You've kicked Wraith ass. Are you telling me that you're afraid of one teeny, tiny little scientist?"
Updated: 28 Oct 2005; Published: 28 Oct 2005
That's awesome! The dialogue is just priceless, particularly the bit about kicking someone's ass on principle. And the punchline was great, too. I can just picture Rodney's face turning a fascinating shade of red.
Summary: AU. Outlaw John Sheppard can't let his arch rival and nemises, Steve - one of the infamous Wraith Brothers - marry the only son of wealthy Robert McKay. After kidnapping the McKay boy, Sheppard realises he has only two choices; Kill him or marry him himself. But Rodney McKay has secrets which could destory the fragile relationship they create and Sheppard has a secret of his own.

Ooh, I like! John and Rodney make such a cute couple, no matter what universe they're in!
Author's Response: hee, they really really do, don't they.
Summary: What goes around, comes around. Never make fun of the less fortunate, some day it may be you. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze (and other things your mother taught you.) (NMS)

I totally sympathize. My allergies are flaring up now, too. But unlike John, I can't wait to use the nasal spray! Only thing that lets me breathe. Carson handled the situation just right -- "You'll face the wraith in your skivvies but you won't shove this thing up your nose?" (paraphrased :-) )
Looking forward to seeing some of the other Carson/John fics you've got going.
Author's Response: This is so a transposition of my life on to my characters. I was afraid of my Nasocort for months. One day I called my allergist and said I was so miserable I couldn't stand it and she asked me if I was using *all* my meds. After the lecture I tried the stupid thing. Go figure it works. But it scared the crap out of me for ages. :) My writing time is getting seriously squeezed right now, but I don't tend to let it all get away from me, so don't be too surprised if the new stuff comes out a little sporadically. Thanks for the feedback!
Summary: It's going to be a bad day. Mild spoilers for Hot Zone.
Updated: 13 Nov 2005; Published: 12 Nov 2005
I like these "slice of life" stories. There have to be at least a few days when nothing goes wrong! ;-)
Author's Response: lol! Thanks -- glad you liked it!
These fics were fun to write, so I'm always happy to hear when someone enjoys them. :)
Summary: McKay has a heart attack.
Updated: 14 Nov 2005; Published: 14 Nov 2005
Pity the ones left behind. Poor John, for having to find Rodney like that. Poor Carson, for the burden of guilt. And poor all of them, for the loss of a good friend.
Good albeit sad story!
Author's Response: Thank you very much for the feedback :-)
Summary: How much pressure can you take? How much are you made of until the fire's all gone and you're just burnt out?
Well, apparently, all you have to do is blow up a solar system.
Updated: 04 Jan 2007; Published: 17 Nov 2005
Wow! What have you done to poor Rodney? He's both snarky and depressed. Bad combo.
I loved his memo to Beckett. :-)
Incredible. Not sure what else I can say. You've got all the characters down perfectly, even Miko.
I really love this fic! I'm reading this when I should be working... :-)
Summary: Six hours changes things more than anyone thought possible.

If I hadn't read the "noncon" warning, I would have been afraid that Elizabeth's tying up loose ends meant that she had cancer. I really enjoy what you did with this story. It was fun to see all the guys (even Caldwell!) acting so solicitously. And this is one of the few portrayals of Kate Heightmeyer that I actually like.
Summary: Post-"Trinity," Elizabeth takes a day to go to the mainland.
Updated: 19 Nov 2005; Published: 19 Nov 2005
I'm totally with Elizabeth on this one. An excuse to keep peanut butter cups in the house is always appreciated, and fall is my favorite time of year, too. My family is spread over a wide geographic area, and the only time we really get together as a group is Thanksgiving.
Loved this one, too!
Summary: The Atlantis expedition is very pretty. John has a theory.
Updated: 21 Nov 2005; Published: 20 Nov 2005
Awesome! (Especially love the Shrek reference.) First of all, the "theory" is too true. Everyone on that expedition is freaking gorgeous (except Kavanaugh). Even Bates is cute in a bulldog-type way. Secondly, John's and Rodney's reactions to the growing seriousness of the conversation were very well done.
Author's Response: Thanks! The Shrek thing just hit me in a "OMG, Rodney is Shrek to John's Fiona!" kinda way. And everyone is gorgeous on the expedition (except Kavanaugh, of course). There has to be a rational explanation! John and I say evil breeding scheme. I'm glad you thought the convo bet. John and Rodney was well done. I'm always going for realistic and IC dialogue.
Summary: John knows he's not much of a wizard. Crossover with Harry Potter.
Updated: 02 Dec 2005; Published: 02 Dec 2005
Hey, that's great! I especially love the explanation for John's... unique hair. Figures that even his magic education is nontraditional -- he's a maverick in many ways.
Summary: Carson Beckett was a man on a mission. An extended tag for Duet. Plot bunny is now deceased.
Updated: 03 Dec 2005; Published: 03 Dec 2005
I love Carson getting all James Bond-like. (Hey, Paul McG and Sean Connery are both Scottish, so why not? :-) ) Your portrayals of Cadman and Zelenka are also funny -- her swearing on her iPod and him just plain swearing!
Author's Response: That is true. They both are from Scotland. That is just the way I just picture Cadman and Zelenka.
