Let's see, what can I tell you about myself. I'm 33 and live in Pittsburgh. I'm a primary care doc by training, a psychiatrist by inclination, and I do research in both. Dr. Dredd was a nickname given to me during medical school. I'm not sure if it was meant to be complimentary, but I use it with pride anyway!
If it's not already obvious,I've liked the doctor characters on the sci-fi shows, from Leonard McCoy in the first Star Trek to Julian Bashir in DS9 to Janet Frasier in SG-1. And last but definitely not least, Carson Beckett. I try to write stories where I can get into the characters' heads. This often leads to both physical and psychological whumping. All in a good cause.
I love dogs. All shapes and all sizes, and I'm especially a sucker for puppies. I grew up with two bichon frises, and am dying to get another one now that I have my own place. Unfortunately, the landlord of the building where I live doesn't allow dogs. So I'm now looking to move! Stay tuned.
Summary: "Well, I was just thinking, if you picture yourself as Superman, then you've got to have a Lois in mind."

Heh. So much for Shep. I think RODNEY'S the one who never sees it coming... ;-)
Summary: Rodney makes a terrifying discovery.
Updated: 17 Oct 2006; Published: 04 Jul 2006
It's good to see that at least Carson's being empathic, even if John wasn't quite so understanding. Hopefully the good doc (and you!) will fix Rodney up.
Summary: John was purple. "Dare I ask?" Carson wondered out loud.
"No," Rodney told him definitively. "No you don't."
Updated: 07 Jul 2006; Published: 07 Jul 2006
Heh. This was just as good as "Stoned by the Villagers", although I would have loved to have seen the John/Elizabeth conversation. :-)
Author's Response: Oh, thanks! I have to say, I'm unreasonably pleased with SBtV, so that's a high compliment indeed. And as for the J/E scene... John just would have been all put out. "All I did was take a leak!" And then he would have pouted for all he was worth and poked at his hives for sympathy. :)
Summary: Carson is caring for the pensive of a very changed schoolmate. Way overdue crossover with Harry Potter.

Well, the hair certainly fits! :-)
Author's Response: That, and the challenger said that John had to be Harry.
Chapter 1: Secrets of the CMO's Desk
Summary: It's summer, 1982, and for once John's not the awkward new kid on the block. No, that honor goes to the two kids running the lemonade stand this time. Written for the sga_flashfic communitie's "Earthside" challenge.
Updated: 20 Jul 2006; Published: 20 Jul 2006
I like that. Typical Rodney, to be very protective of his sister, yet whine while doing it! :-)
Author's Response: Yes! Exactly what I was thinking. You know they had a whole argument back at the apartment about the 'lemonade' thing. Thanks!
Chapter 1: Summer in the City
Summary: Carson liked the restaurant and he absolutely loved the food. He just wasn't sure about the chef.
Updated: 13 Aug 2006; Published: 13 Aug 2006
Awesome! I like Carson and Laura, but Carson and chef-McKay is even better. :-)
Author's Response: Thank you! I thought McKay's love of food combined with his perfectionist tendencies might easily lead to a career as a celebrity chef... I'm glad you enjoyed the story and thank you for leaving feedback.
Chapter 1: Simple Pleasures
Summary: A very, very cracky Five Things fic with a self-explanatory title.
Updated: 13 Sep 2006; Published: 12 Sep 2006
Woohoo! Drunken Scots! Citrus-coated screwdrivers! And what the hell was in Kate's yearbook? :-)
Author's Response: Hee, thank you! And Kate\'s yearbook had a) some spectacularly bad hair, and b) a couple of really awful pictures from drama club productions. REALLY awful.
Chapter 1: The Top Five Acts of the First Annual Atlantis Talent Show
Summary: Jeannie Miller likes these databursts, probably more than her brother right about now. Spoilers for the episodes McKay and Mrs. Miller and Phantoms. Some others.
Updated: 19 Sep 2006; Published: 19 Sep 2006
That's cute! I must have missed it earlier.
Chapter 1: Chapter 1 of 1
Summary: "Jesus, what did Carson say to you?" John asked, stunned. "Did he tell you that you were about to get cancer or something?"
Updated: 24 Sep 2006; Published: 23 Sep 2006
Oh, that's just too awesome for words. "So why am I shouting at you?", indeed. :-)

How lovely. Each little vignette nicely corresponds to the Old Testament book.

*snort* Trust Faith to say the obvious. :-)
Author's Response: Well, obvious to her. Poor Carson...I am not sure he is ever going to be able to look her in the eye without a hint of a blush again. :P ~Ves
Summary: (AU) When they were first warned of the Wraith that dwelled in the forest, the travelers laughed. After all, they were not superstitious fools. Besides, everyone knew that even if those demons
did exist -- which they didn't, of course -- the Wraith had died out at least a thousand years ago.
Updated: 05 Nov 2006; Published: 04 Nov 2006
Cool. If Rodney were ever to be turned into a Wraith, this is how I'd imagine him to be. He's still sarcastic and snarky, no matter what form he wears.
Poor Carson, though. I would have thought he would try to stay alive, to try to find a way to reverse the transformation.
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. *pats Rodney* And I think a lot more went on with Carson when the Wraith took the city, for him to kill himself. Though now you've got a plotbunny in my head where Carson doesn't kill himself and he and Rodney run around killing the Wraith together.
Chapter 1: This Hour of the Dead
Summary: Dr. Novak receives a memo that leads her to an insightful conversation with Hermiod.
Updated: 17 Nov 2006; Published: 17 Nov 2006
Go Hermiod! I love the snarky little gray guy. He's almost more fun than Thor. It's good to see that he's looking out for Lindsey.
Author's Response: I love all Asgard, especially Thor. But Hermiod is a close second. His friendship with Lindsey is squeeable..:)
Summary: Duet tag. Laura feels guilty for overstepping the mark with Rodney.
Updated: 29 Nov 2006; Published: 28 Nov 2006
I would have liked to see a conversation like this between Rodney and Laura. After being stuck in someone's head for a few days, expecting to die, one can't just walk away and never deal with it again! Nice tag.
Author's Response: No, you can't! Thanks for the feedback :)
Summary: The story of a killer and a piano player in the dark corners of NY's streets. John!Mafia Killer AU with a twist.
Updated: 27 Jan 2007; Published: 22 Dec 2006
OMG, he killed Grodin! :-) I like this AU, though. It fits with what we've seen of John. And everyone else also seems to fit their role, especially Carson as bartender.
Author's Response: Yeah, Carson is just the type I figured to be the man behind the bar.;) I am glad you like it!
Heh. Sounds like you even got Dr. Biro in there. Wonder if she's also someone's moll. ;-)
Author's Response: It's Biro, yeah. I am not so sure about the Moll, though.
Summary: The senior staff are putting on a show. Warning: British Christmas traditions ahead.
Updated: 01 Jan 2008; Published: 07 Jan 2007
You definitely should write either a rehearsal or the actual production. It would be hilarious. :-)
Author's Response: Shhh. You'll set of the plot bunny again...
Summary: McKay is allergic to bees...
Updated: 15 Jan 2007; Published: 14 Jan 2007
Yeah, I'm not buying the "model patient" thing, either. :-)
Author's Response: Really? I'm wondering why :-) Thank you very much for your feedback Dr_Dredd
Summary: The Psi Corps has gotten several of its members selected for the Atlantis expedition. Some of them, like expedition leader Elizabeth Weir, are loyal to the Corps despite a regrettably strong sense of personal ethics. John Sheppard is a hairsbreadth from going rogue, and was recruited for the expedition solely because of his ATA gene. The Psi Corps knows they could never find anything in common. Set in season one, shortly before "Letters From Pegasus." Teyla Emmagan/Elizabeth Weir
Updated: 17 Jan 2007; Published: 17 Jan 2007
Neat! It's a crossover that hadn't even occurred to me, but it's very well done.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked this story! (And I'm sorry I took so long to reply.)
Summary: Atlantis' primary offworld team is on Earth after a particularly disastrous mission, and SG1's along for the ride as they take in a carnival.
