Let's see, what can I tell you about myself. I'm 33 and live in Pittsburgh. I'm a primary care doc by training, a psychiatrist by inclination, and I do research in both. Dr. Dredd was a nickname given to me during medical school. I'm not sure if it was meant to be complimentary, but I use it with pride anyway!
If it's not already obvious,I've liked the doctor characters on the sci-fi shows, from Leonard McCoy in the first Star Trek to Julian Bashir in DS9 to Janet Frasier in SG-1. And last but definitely not least, Carson Beckett. I try to write stories where I can get into the characters' heads. This often leads to both physical and psychological whumping. All in a good cause.
I love dogs. All shapes and all sizes, and I'm especially a sucker for puppies. I grew up with two bichon frises, and am dying to get another one now that I have my own place. Unfortunately, the landlord of the building where I live doesn't allow dogs. So I'm now looking to move! Stay tuned.
Summary: Their city falls into the sea while they watch. (McKay/Weir and Sheppard/Teyla)

Oh, boy. This was really sad. One particularly poignant line was the one about how Carson valued (past tense) people over data. A nice, subtle way to tell us he was gone.
Summary: Most days, Radek appreciates it, how he and Rodney can communicate in half sentences.

Cool! I like how Zelenka figured it out, and totally doesn't care except that it gives him more time in the lab! Very funny, and I wish that folx in real life could be like that.
Summary: McKay, Beckett, and Zelenka get married in a strange and unexpected alien ceremony.
Updated: 27 Jun 2005; Published: 27 Jun 2005
Funny! Best line: "I'd hate to have to explain to me grandmum that I'd married an American"
Summary: "Panic! It's a tried and true response."
Updated: 04 Jul 2005; Published: 04 Jul 2005
Good one! Fave line: "Well, I for one have had plenty of experience prostrating myself before annoying department chairmen while working at university, so I'll go first" Hah! I've definitely seen that happening
Summary: "You think this is some kind of joke?"
Updated: 04 Jul 2005; Published: 04 Jul 2005
I thought you were going to give him a tattoo! Now that would have been interesting to try and remove... ;-)
Author's Response: eeeekk! Somehow, I don't see that happening and John remaining *unaware* of said attentions while he's asleep. The marker? Yes...it can feel like fondling. A needle? ::shudders again::
Summary: Twenty-seven hours since the last emergency, and John Sheppard is bored.
Updated: 05 Jul 2005; Published: 05 Jul 2005
I found the image of the dead pet to be very poignant. I wonder why we haven't seen more of that.

Definitely intriguing! And impressive snarkiness between Rodney and John. Actually, this seems like more than just snarkiness, this is getting downright nasty. I'm sure you have a reason for it, though. :-)
I also liked Carson's POV. It does seem weird that a guy who could find the ATA gene is the same guy who does routine post-mission checks.
Waiting for the next installment...
I really love the way you've portrayed the characters, particularly Carson. You've got his personality down pat.
I'm definitely enjoying this second installment, too. I know I said it before, but I really enjoy the way you write Carson Beckett.
Summary: Rodney is left behind. Wraith darts, snacks, discovery.
Updated: 11 Jul 2005; Published: 11 Jul 2005
I also like the concept behind the Wraith dart and the things that Teyla had to do to fly it.
Rodney's angst and confusion were very well done, with him simultaneously realizing something about himself and afraid that his feelings would not be returned.
Summary: It's the summer of 1984, and John and Rodney are junior counselors at a science camp for gifted kids...

Great fic, and fabulous illustration! But Rodney is just cruel for rigging the sprinkler.
Chapter 1: Team McKay and Surfer Boy
Summary: Antarctica sure is cold.
Updated: 15 Jul 2005; Published: 15 Jul 2005
Aww, this is so cute. They do make a good couple.
I think I found a Freudian slip in this. You write: "How long does it take the run these testes?" (when the gene is just discovered).
Testes? Rodney's hornier than he thought...
Author's Response: Hehe...maybe he is, lol. Mental note to fix that.
But glad you like the story. :)

I love Radek's way of bluntly making comments. And Rodney's answering sputter!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
Summary: He'd always been there for her, how was she suppose to go on? Grodin/Weir

I enjoyed this a lot. I never really thought of Elizabeth and Peter as lovers, but this also works if they're really close friends. I can't imagine her not having these pent-up emotions, since she couldn't react at all during the height of the siege.
Author's Response: Thank-you.
Summary: Members of the Atlantis Expedition are inexplicably losing their sanity, and Rodney makes an interesting discovery under the city. Spoilers for 38 Minutes, The Eye, Hot Zone, Sanctuary & Before I Sleep

Ooh, you used the word "narcissistic" in a fic! I was really happy when I got to use the word "countertransference" in one of mine (not posted here yet). I'm enjoying this so far. Are you a fellow shrink? ;-)
Author's Response: LOL! Thanks so much for enjoying my vocabulary. :-) Actually I'm an MD eye surgeon with a PhD in physiology. But I still remember a fair amount of internal medicine from my intern days. Thanks again!

Cool! I had Rodney with a bug in his ear in "Stick it in Your Ear", but this is even funnier because he did it to himself!
Author's Response: Hee! We're creating a new SGA fic genre, Rodney earfic! I can sympathize with Rodney in your fic, since I've had a bug in my ear not once but twice!

Very cute. Although I would have liked to have seen the conversation between John and Carson!
Author's Response: Oh God that would have been funny...I might just have to write a fic that does that now...
Summary: "How on earth can they justify putting that in my file?"
Updated: 21 Jul 2005; Published: 21 Jul 2005
Good one! Evil of John to want to con poor Rodney in poker. And evil of Sam to try poisoning him with lemon!
Author's Response: you have to take advantage of Rodney when you can.
Summary: She's been abandoned before; she, who'd been mother and father, teacher, and even lover to the lives she'd once held.

I think I saw this either on LJ or ff.net, and it's just as good reading it the second time around. I love your description of the characters as archetypes: the Scientist, the Pilot, the Hungry, etc. And Atlantis is the Mother of all.
