Let's see, what can I tell you about myself. I'm 33 and live in Pittsburgh. I'm a primary care doc by training, a psychiatrist by inclination, and I do research in both. Dr. Dredd was a nickname given to me during medical school. I'm not sure if it was meant to be complimentary, but I use it with pride anyway!
If it's not already obvious,I've liked the doctor characters on the sci-fi shows, from Leonard McCoy in the first Star Trek to Julian Bashir in DS9 to Janet Frasier in SG-1. And last but definitely not least, Carson Beckett. I try to write stories where I can get into the characters' heads. This often leads to both physical and psychological whumping. All in a good cause.
I love dogs. All shapes and all sizes, and I'm especially a sucker for puppies. I grew up with two bichon frises, and am dying to get another one now that I have my own place. Unfortunately, the landlord of the building where I live doesn't allow dogs. So I'm now looking to move! Stay tuned.

This is shaping up to be quite the darkfic. We definitely get hints of John's inner demons from some of the episodes; it's only a matter of time before he loses control of them. (Or, as Rodney would say, SNAPS!)
Summary: Someone's been abandoned and McKay finds his sock.

Heh. Liked the part about the bikini-less women. Men are so predictable! ;-)
I always wondered what happened to my socks....
Chapter 1: Lost and Found
Summary: SPOILERS THRU "DUET". John's got a problem, and so he turns to a friend for advice. (Sheppard/Dex pre-slash)
Updated: 10 Aug 2005; Published: 10 Aug 2005
I think Carson might have a few choice things to say about the skirt/kilt business. But it sure was one hell of a kiss!
Summary: There's a new woman in Dr. McKay's lab. Word of warning, this is classic Romance with all the trappings. But there is a plot and even a little action.

A female Rodney? OHNO!!! :-)
Love Carson's "this is not a dating service"!
Sounds like Rodney's definitely in for trouble.
Cute interactions between Carson and Emma. I liked the bit about her proclaiming marriage when she was 8!
Summary: Just another typical day with Ancient porn, flying blue platypus-things and karaoke. Meep!

This had me practically in tears laughing. Particularly the bits about Kavenaugh. He really is an ass, isn't he.
And the Clapton was bloody brilliant
Author's Response: I suspect fandom dislikes Kavanaugh because he says and acts the way we're all afraid we would. That said, he's a great character, because Rodney needs a scientific nemesis. Using 'Layla' really was eretria's idea and I promised her something, thus, ahem, this.
Summary: Once upon a time there was a big hunk of macho manliness named Specialist Ronon Dex, though his friends called him Rononlocks because of his stylin' dreads.

*chuckle* *snort* HAHAHA!!!
This was hilarious. Rodney's gripes were the best, including those about Beckett and Zelenka trying to get John into bed. Bates hiding in the closet was also priceless. :-)
Chapter 1: The Story of Rononlocks and the Three Atlantians
Summary: Rodney McKay never made a nuclear bomb in his life. Although it's possible Dr. Sheppard might have made a few.

So Shep likes giant squids, huh? Maybe that's why he liked Chaya in her glowy squid form! ;-)
Author's Response: Could be. :)
Interesting. "They don't let people with weak wrists fly." Is that code for "Don't ask, don't tell?" Very clever, and great story!
Summary: We begin at the end. Rating just to be safe. Dead people featured.

Teaser, huh. Consider me teased -- and hooked! Hard to say about the title before I know where the story is going.

They really do make a cute couple! Love the bit about the lemonade. Is this a sequel to a story about Rodney's family? I don't remember seeing it (but I definitely want to!).
Author's Response: It's not actually; it's just a line I put in there. But you are not the first to ask about that visit. I may need to write another fic after I finish this one ... :).
Oy! My parents aren't quite so direct, but my grandfather! He just turned 90 and told me he wanted to see grandkids before he died. Definitely hard to respond to that.
But this is such a sweet story! I like the contrast between the way Carson thinks of his mum and the way she actually is. Hope you do more with this.
Summary: Rodney's got a lot on his mind. Taking place immediately after Duet.
Updated: 22 Aug 2005; Published: 22 Aug 2005
Yeah, Rodney's a few anchovies shy of a full pizza right now. I think the "Snap!" he uttered in Siege 3 is going to be great foreshadowing of what actually happens to him. Great story!
Summary: She could hear Rodney's voice in her head.
Oh, this is bad. This is very bad.

Guess someone should have given the female bunnies a "rabbit test". Hah! I kill myself... :-) Anyway, this had me laughing out loud in my office. Fortunately the door was closed. I've definitely loved all your stuff.
Chapter 1: Attack Of The Killer Bunnies
Summary: Rodney meets and falls for another blonde. But it's not what you may be thinking.
Updated: 03 Sep 2005; Published: 26 Aug 2005
I love how the women are making notes to think more carefully about Rodney after seeing him with Eve. He may have a few dates after this...
It's so funny to see Rodney McKay, certified genius, meet his match in one little girl! She's got him wrapped around her finger...
Summary: McKay's had enough of Ford's lack of patience with Beckett.
Updated: 26 Aug 2005; Published: 26 Aug 2005
I thought this story was very well written, and McKay's opinion of Beckett was excellent. But I thought Ford was a little bit out of character. I mean, yeah, he was an obnoxious git during The Eye, but they were all under a lot of stress. (Ford especially, since in a sense he was ranking military officer of his group.) I can't see him just ranting like that when there's nothing else going on.
Author's Response: I don't disagree. As Ford's "bitchiness" towards Beckett was isolated to those episodes Storm/Eye, I was pushing things with the fic. I just had to somehow express my irritation at the scenes.
Summary: Lives are changed by the toss of a coin.
Updated: 08 Sep 2005; Published: 27 Aug 2005
Neat! A "what-if" fic. I wonder how everyone will react to John in this world.
Beckett's an excellent judge of character -- both John's and Rodney's! :-) I like the way you've written John and Carson; it really sounds like the characters in the show. Can't wait to see more.
Author's Response: Thanks very much! Glad to hear I'm hitting the voices with them and that you're enjoying it!
Summary: Two men and a sock drawer.
Updated: 29 Aug 2005; Published: 29 Aug 2005
Cool! More slashy goodness from you. And like everyone else here said, they're definitely married! Hate to see what they do with the towels. ;-)
