Am single, a Registered Nurse, train both horses and dogs for shows-serious 'hobby'. Been reading fan fiction almost 2 years now. Absolutely passionate about Stargate Atlantis! Watch episodes, even U-tube 'shorties', daily...John Sheppard = my obsession! Came from being a Jack O'Neill fan. My greatest desire is to someday actually meet Joe Flanigan himself...

Summary: What drives that strength of character? McKay didn't know either John Sheppard well enough to fully understand. Add in a reporter, a desire for truth and a taste of what "could be" & that unsigned non-disclosure agreement could be a problem. Vegas-fic.

I am so loving this! "Vegas" just needs so much exploring!..I really have a great need to delve deeply into 'Vegas Sheppard', his past, present, and where his future really lies. This story is shaping up to be the best Vegas fic yet!
I'm new to Wraithbait and hope to figure out how to 'favorite' this story and how to get notice when a new chapter comes out. I may just have to keep a tab open continuously on it....
Keep it coming, and I thank you

Author's Response: I\'m so glad you\'re enjoying the story so far. Vegas is probably one of my top-five favorite Atlantis episodes and the potential they opened up there (even if they never went back to that specific universe) made me even sadder with the cancellation. Sheppard in general is one of my favorite TV characters because of the things that Joe Flanigan\'s acting alludes to lurking under the surface of our \"happy-go-lucky accidentally saved the day flyboy\". Sheppard is incredibly capable of doing some very questionable things (for the right reasons); but doesn\'t want to be seen that way (and those darker aspects of his personality were brought more to the forefront in Vegas and made me take real notice of what I could possibly do with an essentially blank canvas). \r\nI\'ve been trying to be super careful as I form the relationship between John and Casey because I\'m terrified of falling into the \"romance-trap\" that seems to automatically pop up when you have a male and a female character essentially spending all their time together. There has to be a careful balance of flirtatiousness and respect (for both each other and what they\'re going to try and accomplish). \r\nBut anyway, I digress, thanks so much for taking the time to read the story. I know some people don\'t like their fanfic with a big helping of \"OC\" on the side, but Vegas is such a different universe that it needed Casey. Vegas-Sheppard himself needs Casey as we\'ll see in future chapters; because McKay wasn\'t totally wrong about the Sheppard he met and Vegas-Sheppard sharing a lot of attributes. Including his propensity for throwing himself headfirst into trouble he probably shouldn\'t be going anywhere near. \r\nI hope to have a new chapter up in a day or two at the latest providing my \"real life\" schedule doesn\'t go all wacky.
