I'm just a girl who likes her fandoms. I started out with HP and moved to SGA because I find Sheppard compelling. I write original fic, too. That's all.

Oh, I liked this very, very much! The interplay between John and Rodney was great--hysterically funny, in fact, and spot-on, as well. The occasional addition of wry lines from Ronon and the entire infirmary scene are also inspired. Thanks for the sweet laughs!

I like these a lot, particularly the second and the fifth reasons for his wristbands, but all of them are thoughtful and concise and still evocative. Thanks!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I love seeing how far you can push the "What-if" in canon and fanon, this was just a little experiment along those lines. Glad you enjoyed ^_^

I like this a lot, especially for your characterization of Ronon. He's still impatient, but he also has this reserve of compassion, which I think is absolutely true of his character on the show. You tap into that very well. I like how you do John here, too, not too fragile but definitely damaged. Great story!

Author's Response: Hi\r\nThank you very much for the kind feedback. I do actually have two more stories planned for this - a prequel and a sequel, so I\'m glad you like this and I hope you will read the other two when I (finally!) get them posted.\r\n:)

At the risk of sounding sycophantic, I *loved* this one! I think it's the obvious care that they feel for each other, even well before they have their mutual "Ah-ha!" moment. This is lovingly told, too, with lots of enticing details. Bravo!

I almost never read gen, but this looked compelling, and I'm very glad that I did. What a delightful and fun little story! Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Well, I rarely read anything but 'gen' and find myself pleasantly surprised at times of what else is out there. Glad you took the chance and enjoyed it! Just one of those odd little fics that pops in the brain and demands attention!

Wow. I don't have the right words to say how much I love this story. First, I love the folkloric elements, the stories you build of Ronon's life and Satedan tradition. And then, I love that you've made Ronon such a dynamic, complex character, so thoughtful, so full of heart and understanding. Then, too, I love what you've built of the two together. Just breathtaking. Bravo!

I feel like I can't possibly do justice to your wonderful work of love and enormous gift to us. I started reading this way back when you were still in the process of writing it--in fact, I think that's when we became friends on LJ--and then I fell away from the SGA fandom and life intervened. By one of those quirks of life, I'm rewatching SGA again and had always regretted never finishing this tale, had always meant to come back to it. And here I am now, so very glad that I did and wishing I had words to describe how thoroughly mesmerizing and incredible this tale is.

The worlds you've created--every one of them, though Selket ascendent, of course--are brilliantly realized down to every nuance and detail but without being overburdened by too much description or Captain Exposition moments. I'm so impressed with how you make the world entire and whole and real through little things, through every detail, without belaboring any point. That's such talent, truly.

And then there's the characterization! I've always enjoyed stories in which John suffers something life-altering, but I've never really found one in which he's damaged but still credible, if that makes sense? That is, he survives this terrible, terrible thing, and yes, he's damaged, surely changed beyond recall, but not not-John, not fundamentally different in the way that most matters. And the development of his relationship with Rodney, who is also gloriously developed and rounded here, that relationship is so perfectly paced, so brilliantly evocative of the struggle, compromise, give-and-take, pull-and-push of not only relationships in general but relationships wrought by trauma or that share trauma. I'm sure I'm not explaining myself clearly, so let me just say it's brilliant and hope you'll take my meaning.

Thank you for a thoroughly enthralling, gorgeously realized story. I didn't want it to end, and when it did, it was with a bittersweetness not only for John and Rodney's denouement but for the story itself having finished.

Bravo! Bravo! Author! Author!

I'm revisiting SGA fanfiction after a long time away, and I'm so glad I came across your story. I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the pacing, development of the relationship, and the careful and sensitive way you handle the situation between them. It's realistic, lovingly detailed, and excellently put together. Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I\'m really glad the story worked for you.

Oh, this was simply fantastic! There is so much to admire about this story, but I think the thing I find most impressive is the slow unraveling of the mystery of John's damage, of who he was and how he came to be where he is now, and the equal pace of Evan's patient pursuit, the way the two are gradually revealed in inverse parabola, so that as John starts to let go of one thing, he starts to open to another. I also find the thoroughness of detail in John's emotional state to be both impressively accurate AND not overdone. There's a fine balance there, and you maintain it throughout. Finally, I just adore the way you've written every single character, but I especially enjoyed Ronon and Woolsey. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
